Muddy Beach is a family business run by Christian Dann and his parents, Phil and Lisa. Lisa's family, the Barnicoats, opened the very first Fish and Chip shop in Penryn, so Christian's love of the restaurant trade is a trait passed on through several generations.
Christian has worked front-of-house for some of the most successful restaurants in the area, and when the opportunity arose to take on the lease for what was the popular 'Miss Peapods' cafe on Jubilee Wharf, the whole family jumped at the chance. As a result, Muddy Beach has been born out of a passion for excellent food, quaffable wines and the sort of customer service that makes you feel part of the family!

Had a really delicious lunch here today., the spicy crispy mackerel on chards broccoli was divine, lovely friendly personable service too. Spacious seating inside and out with lovely views of Penryn river. Good idea to book a table with them online as it gets very busy. Been here a few time now always good!

The food here is so delicious and a cut above traditional cafes. The menu is more than the usual cafe grub - innovative, fresh and fantastic. I highly recommend the hog's hash! Wish I lived closer as would love to return. Excellent, friendly service. Not the cheapest but worth paying a bit more. This was our favourite meal during our week in Cornwall.

We have been regular visitors to Muddy beach since it opened. I took my Daughter there for breakfast today and was appalled at the food. The usual high standards did not apply today. I asked if we could order our own choice so we did....2 sausage (beautiful) mushrooms (didn't have any) tomatoes (2 slices of a beefsteak tomato) hogs pudding ( didn't have any)1 egg ( 2 came back, brown frilly hard bottoms with hard yolks) the toast was ok. £30 including tea for 2. I know its difficult to get staff but to say we were disappointed is an understatement.

The place is fantastic and the view is just magnificent. You can have your food by the harbor where you can enjoy the lovely views of the water, the boats and the trees. The food was so yummy and the service was efficient. It's a bit sad that customers cannot stay there as long as they want because of the pandemic situation. But overall, it's an amazing place!

Continuously ridiculously overpriced. Went for lunch last week, and found that the rye bread was so structurally solid it could be used to build houses. Decided to give it another chance, and came for my friend's birthday breakfast. Breakfast came to £9.95, and contained one sad sausage, potatoes still wet with what can only be described as seawater, a single charred slice of bacon, one slice of toast, an overcooked egg and what seemed to be half a cherry tomato. Place itself is nice, but in no way worth the price. Will not be coming back.
