At Hardings Nursery & Pre-School we maintain the ratio of adults to children in the setting that is set through Ofsted's Welfare Requirements. These ratios are 1:8 for three year olds and 1:4 for two year olds. We usually have at least one additional member of staff present and also have volunteers and parent/carer helpers where possible to complement these ratios.
We are proud that our Practitioners are all Paediatric First Aid trained and there is a deep commitment within the team to ongoing professional learning and development. We have a low turnover of staff and many of the staff's own children attended Hardings themselves in previous years. We work with local colleges to offer Level 3 Apprenticeships and also work with the local YMCA to offer Level 1 & 2 placements to students.

Services
The Pre-School is led by a highly knowledgeable and effective Committee and management team. Staff nurture strong and trusting relationships with parents. Quote from HMI Chief of Inspectors - The judgement of outstanding means that you are exceptional and significant elements of your work are exemplary.
We welcome and value all feedback and comments from families at Hardings. We also use family and child questionnaires throughout the year to see how people feel about what we do. Hardings is an exceptional preschool, and they have given my daughter a fantastic start on her education journey! I would just like to thank everyone at hardings pre school especially my daugher's key worker claire for the amazing work they have done!
A full copy of our policy statements can be found in the policy folder which is kept on the table in the lobby. If you require a copy of any of the policies and procedures please ask a member of staff. All our policies are designed to offer the best possible experience for the children and families in our setting.
At Hardings we are proud of our strong and secure links with our families and external professionals. We have regular Open Sessions where you can come in and look at your child's Learning Journey and see what they have been doing at Nursery/Pre-School. Learning Journeys are out and accessible at all times for both you and children to look at whenever you want as well.
We will be very happy to work with another provider/childminder etc to share 30 hours - parents/carers will have to arrange getting their child to Hardings for sessions with the other provider. Invoices for fees are sent out in the first week of each half term and are due for payment immediately upon receipt.
