Absolutely fantastic. I've been following Jun since I was a kid and finally getting to eat at the Ninth was both a pleasure and amazing experience. The staff were amazing, food fantastic and atmosphere exceptional. My partner was made up for her birthday with the card given to her and felt so special! Worth every single penny, I will be looking forward to the next time I can sit down at this restaurant - one of the best places I have eaten at, period. (Get that beef cheek starter, thank me later)

Great food, quiet but cosy atmosphere. My personal favourites: the beef cheeks, the deer with hazelnuts and the truffle rigate. You should definitely try the Pain Perdu too!

Wow, this was really not good.
We had booked two seats by the bar and the bad service started on arrival. It was like they didn’t want us to sit there. I usually like to sit by the bar but the waiter was like. “Oh no, you have booked by the bar”. The staff used the bar as their storage space during the whole evening. And of the staff members bumped in to me during four occasions during my dinner, he didn’t excuse himself even once.
We started of with a drink and almonds. I don’t drink alcohol so I said I wanted to have a bitter drink. The bartender said he could make a fruity one with

First visited The Ninth when it opened, before it had even earned a Michelin star. I'm pleased to report that it has survived lockdown with its fabulous food and exemplary service intact. The atmosphere is still calm and relaxed, with a varied menu of sharing plates for both moderate and adventurous palates. The addictively savoury cuttlefish pasta and silky rosemary ice cream that accompanied the apple tarte tatin were standouts, but there is no disappointing dish here, and the cocktails are also a treat.

Good food, attentive service. Sharing plates are a decent size. Disappointingly the set lunch is no longer available despite being still listed on OpenTable.

We stopped by here yesterday and we LOVED the meal we had. A sampling across their menu which produced one exceptional dish after another. Particular highlights were the beetroot salad and tortellini, and Andreas was a really gracious and helpful host. We hope to return soon, and highlight suggest this place in the meantime!

There were some pleasant dishes and the lamb en croute, the langoustine ravioli and the pain perdu were wonderful, but at £90 a head was poor value, all the dishes were tiny and the wines were quite overpriced. Got home and still need to eat a cheese toastie.
Beef cheeks were just ok. And they’re not doing the tasting menu anymore, because “sharing is caring”.

Went for lunch with a date. Service was okay and the food was average for a starred restaurant. Highlights were the risotto and oxtail ravioli.

Good service, delicious food and good drinks. The beef cheeks are so tender that it melts in your mouth. Absolutely love their Lamb & truffle en croute, Grezzina courgettes. Pain Perdu & vanilla ice-cream is also good. Would like to go back and try all the dishes on the menu.

This is 3 Stars only cause I really don't think this should be a Michelin star restaurant. I think this is a good, fairly normal restaurant. Some of this may be the service was very poor. He couldn't even walk us through the menu with any intelligence or offerings on how to best order for 2 from the menu. We ended up getting the pork bites snack - meh nothing special at all, any bar can serve these. The highlight for us was actually not the truffle egg yolk pasta but the rabbit risotto but even that the rabbit was overcooked. I am not saying don't go, I just don't think

The food at The Ninth was tremendous in quality. The sea bass was very flavorful and filling. The mussels on this dish were even better! The wine selection is good and service is helpful as well. Overall- I would definitely recommend a visit when in London.

The Ninth was a wonderful experience for food lovers! The staff was very knowledgeable about food and the kitchen has earned it's
star! We shared Babajuans, oxtail croquettes, lovely bread and butter, a beautiful Panzanella salad, ossobuco tortellini and rabbit sweet corn and truffle risotto. I had the pain Perdu for dessert- no way was I sharing that! My husband had the white peaches and almond ice ream. Each combination was brilliant, but the texture of the sourdough and pain Perdu and the flavorful Panzanella and Babajuans were unforgettable,

This is one of several outstanding restaurants in London. I started with the burrata, followed by the orecchiette with black truffle &egg yolks. For my main course I had the seabream fish - which was cooked and seasoned to perfection. However, the highlight for me was the desert. You must try the Pain Perdu and vanilla ice cream. It is carmelized on the outside and sponge cake-like on the inside. Truly unique and delicious! I was with some vegans and they had a delicious meal as well.

We had a lovely dinner, sitting at the bar with a last-minute reservation made online.

I went for a medley of small plates, which each packed a beautiful composition of flavors:

The beetroot tart was scrumptious, the foie gras pasta was a nice mix of surf and turf & the oyster with horse radish was very refreshing.

The Pan Perdu is like soft custard on the inside, and a crispy gooey shell on the outside, a to-die-for dessert experience, glad we listened to the staff recommendation!

A perfect meal for a perfect date! We can see why this place has earned a Michelin star.

Great cute spot! Pretty small restaurant, but was able to squeeze me in for lunch. I saw this on a list of great michelin restaurants for lunch and boy did it not disappoint! For around $30, you get to choose two courses from a 6-7 choice menu. I ordered the mussels and clam linguine and a chargrilled porkchop salad. The linguine was the best linguine I've ever had! It was a small portion, but had a good amount of seafood and flavor! The porkchop had a nice char to it and was a pretty big portion size. The salad was well balanced with pine nuts and shaved apple slices. Overall, would definitely

Solid modern London fare. Got a bunch of things:

Starters:
Oysters (meh, didn't like the fried onions on top)
Scotch egg - amazing
Bread and butter - the only time I've ever cited bread & butter. It was THAT good.
Beef tongue tartar - good!

Mains/shared plates:
Risotto - solid, but not the place to get risotto
Fried Gnocchi - delicious!
Pickled mussels - really unique and delicious
Scallops - amazing!
Duck - solid, but nothing special
Rabbit - really good prep (fried a bit).

Cocktails were bad, get wine.

Overall, would go back again, the plates are small, get a lot to share!

You had me at oxtail croquettes. Ordered four of them out of the gate as a "snack" and upon service, they were moneyyyyy. Crisp outside with beautifully braised, moist, perfect oxtail on the inside.

Had the rabbit confit lasagna as a starter. Really nice. Great flavor! Could've used a bit more tomato sauce, but overall it was delicious. Pasta layers were cooked well and the rabbit was very tender. Over cooked rabbit can be like shoe leather.

For main courses we ordered the whole sea bass and the lamb en croute. The sea bass was in a delicious broth, but the top side of the fish

Despite the 5 star reviews I'm going to stick to my guns and say The Ninth is overrated. The food is excellent, therefore I could be immediately undermining myself, but I didn't think it warrants the high price. It has played out industrial decor with slightly average service. I may have caught them on a bad night on the service however charging £24 for a "small plate" of, whatever fish it is, takes the piss.

Appreciated it's the west end but when you get 5 pieces of gnocchi and pay £8 you're getting knocked, even if it was perfectly cooked and slathered in an

Exciting that chef Jun Tanaka bring his very own restaurant to Charlotte street, The Nineth. It serves French Mediterranean style food and all for sharing. That is what dining out is all about!

We started with sharing a few of the dishes from the snack section of the menu - Oxtail croquettes, Duck scotch egg, Barbajuans.

Then follow on with starters King prawn macaroni, chives and ginger. My favourite was the Rabbit confit lasagna, mustard bechamel.

We also tried the Razor clam ceviche from the hot and curd section of the menu. This dish reminded me of my first dining experience at The Pearl

The Ninth in Fitzrovia cooks overly delicious food and combines that with truly outstanding customer service.

Charlotte Street in Fitzrovia is a street known for its restaurants. Now, The Ninth is one of them - and if you ask me, one you should definitely check out.

The place is dimly lit and sports the trendy standard feature many openings in the past two years or so seem to share, an exposed brick wall. Fortunately, despite the trendy wall, this restaurant does not focus on being hip, instead it delivers excellent service.

As soon as I walked in, I was greeted by a lovely girl who looked

I've always seen Jun Tanaka at Taste of London doing those "show me how to cook xyz" type things but have never had the chance to try out his food. Well, when he opens one right in Central London on Charlotte Street, no more excuses, one has to go and try it out (excuse the French use of oneself).

STARTERS
- King prawn marconi hot starter was decent, but nothing special.
- Flamed mackerel, dill, cucumber and capers *** special mention. If you don't mind fishy tastes, this is the starter for you. The vinegarette sauce is perfected such that the fish is divine, unable to help
