Paul & our team of Master Butchers are happy to talk through all your requirements and can advise on joints, preparation, size, price, storage, collection or delivery and finally the cooking! We also stock a hand picked selection of condiments, stuffing's, thick crust pies, cold meats and cheeses to compliment your every meal.

Following in the footsteps of my Father and Grandfathers who ran a butchers shop from 5 High St, Maldon, provides a strong sense of pride in what we do. We strive to continually evolve, to meet the needs of our customers whilst staying true to the one thing, I believe, has kept us in business all these years - high standards.

Opening & Delivery Report

Orders can be collected during shop opening hours, please contact us to arrange in advance. We have increased our delivery frequency, and for a small charge can now delivery further afield. We are now also delivering to an extended area, including Burnham, Chelmsford and Colchester. For delivery to a local area not included on the list there will be a small charge to cover our costs, please ask for details.

We have used Ansells for many years. Their home delivery service is excellent, especially through these difficult Covid times. Nothing is to much trouble for them always very helpful. Their meat quality is excellent. Lovely to have a local service of this standard.

Only just getting round to posting this now but we enjoyed a delicious turkey, and a MOUTH-WATERING Beef Wellington from Ansell & Sons over Christmas. Superb service with a smile. Ansells provide excellent quality meat and it is always so well prepared. They are happy to go the extra mile and prepare joints as you wish, with delivery if needed. Try their porchetta joint and excellent Essex rib eye steaks. Thank you Derek, Lynne and the team :)

Really wasn't impressed by the meat and price when I ordered meat for a small bbq. 20x small sausages and 16x small burgers for £25. Had to calm the flames because of the fat content.
