We have been running as a family business since opening our doors back in 1971, by Davids father John Belcher. David joined the shop at the age of 16 where he learnt the art of Butchery alongside his father. Johns' knowledge and skills were passed down to David who took over the shop when John approached retirement.
The family theme has continued with Davids children, Emma and Dan, working with him to ensure that the family values are kept in the day to day running of the business. As well as Davids wealth of experience in the trade its important to not forget his right hand man Lee. With 30 years experience at Davids Quality Meats, Lee has a natural talent for knowing his customers like the back of his hand.

Services
Just like our locally sourced Lamb and Pork, you'll find our beautiful British Beef at Blixes Farm. The quality of all our produce is what we pride ourselves on at Davids Quality Meats and that doesn't change here with the beef. Hung in store for a minimum of 28 days within our cool fridges, we allow the beef to fully mature so each cut is full of incredible flavour.
Throughout the year we are supplied with a wonderful selection of lambs, they are of exceptional quality and come packed with incredible flavour. Just like the rest of our produce, we butcher the meat in store to suit any customers requirements. Give your tastebuds a treat whether its on the BBQ as a fresh minted lamb kebab or a succulent Sunday joint for all family and friends to tuck into.
Our Delicious Pork is Free Range and from a local farm just outside of Braintree, Essex. We have been using this supplier since we started as the pork is always exceptionally good. If there is anything in particular that you would like we can order in especially for you. We are always happy to help and can offer any cooking advice that you may need, so please do not hesitate to ask us.
Like with much of our produce, our Gammon and Bacon has been supplied to us over a number of years from a very well trusted supplier. English and locally sourced, all of our stock comes from 'Taste of Suffolk' - Bury St Edmunds. We use 'Taste of Suffolk' because they have stocked us with the perfect produce, whether its for a classic Saturday morning 'fry up' or a midweek juicy Gammon steak and chips.
We have a wide range of game on offer here at Davids Quality Meats. Game is hugely popular with our customers as Venison leads the way as the current favourite. Please note that some of the game is seasonal and can be rare to stock at certain times of the year. To not not leave yourself disappointed, give us a call and we'll have it placed on our next order for you.

I have been going to these wonderful, welcoming helpful butchers for a long time now, and have never been disappointed in the service, friendliness, helpfulness and cooking tips. Along with the quality and flavour, you can't go wrong with their fantastic sausages, and meats. Thoroughly recommend a visit to see for yourself. Always busy which is a good sign as well.

I've only recently discovered this place, it is without doubt the best butchers I've ever frequented. The staff are very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable, and the meant is just superb. I recently had a sirloin steak that was simply sublime, and a whole chicken that was so meaty and packed with flavour that it was streets ahead of any supermarket variety. Highly recommended!
