Pilning Surgery although located less than seven miles from central Bristol is a rural practice catering for the needs of a growing population, presently 4500 patients, increasingly made up of commuters. The practice area, bounded by the M4 to the north and the M5 to the east, covers about forty square miles of mainly North Bristol Greenbelt, with the main centres of population in three villages, Pilning, Easter Compton and Severn Beach.
Pilning is the "service centre" of the district. The building was architect designed to be easy to maintain and yet blend with the countryside by which it is surrounded. Our team includes four GPs, one nurse, one health care assistant as well as our surgery manager, medical secretaries and reception / administration staff.

Services
Please Note: When using the Online Services please ensure you book with the surgery you are currently registered with i.e. Pilning Surgery otherwise your appointment will be void. To register for this service please bring Photo ID and a proof of address in to the surgery or visit patient.emisaccess.co.uk/Account/Login?cdb=1048.
If you think you need to be visited at home please telephone the surgery before 10.30am and give the receptionist your phone number and some indication of the problem so that the visiting clinician can determine how urgent the visit is. Home visits are offered to those who are acutely or chronically housebound.
If you require urgent medical assistance which cannot wait until the surgery re-opens, please call 111. Calls to NHS 111 service are free from both landline and mobile phones. NHS Walk-in Centres offer fast and convenient access to a range of NHS services, including health information, advice and treatment for a range of minor illnesses (coughs, colds, infections) and minor injuries (strains, sprains, cuts).
Self care is about looking after yourself in a healthy way. It can be anything from brushing your teeth, doing some exercise, managing common conditions (like headaches, colds and flu) or living with a long-term health problem, such as asthma or diabetes. As a Self Care Aware practice we are here to help you feel able to look after your own health when it is right for you.
When you come in to register with us you will be asked to show proof of identity (i.e. a driving license or passport) and something that shows your address (such as a utility bill). There are practical reasons why it is useful for us to see your ID and proof of address, such as confirming a correct match on the NHS central patient registry to ensure that your previous medical notes are passed on to us.

Absolutely shocking service... checked in on the screen and waited 45 minutes to be told a message had been left for me to say my appointment had been changed to a different nurse (Had no message from the doctors...) and because I hadn't responded they've cancelled my 8 week old babies vaccinations....
Absolutely shocking. Both times I've been to Pilning Surgery with my newborn I've been messed around- first time waiting an hour to be seen!
Now have to wait to have his vaccination on a different day which means we have to cancel plans and rearrange nap times all because the surgery have screwed

I’m quite disappointed with some of the receptionist in the surgery I find it very difficult to get to see a doctor without a Spanish Inquisition about my problems sometimes I feel that the receptionists try to diagnose my problems or symptoms before I even get to see a doctor and also if someone wants to see a rating on Pilning surgery they should go to the NHS reviews for Pilning surgery as I don’t believe that this is a true record for ratings
