Services
It is possible to once again make some of your appointments online, including GP triage calls, cervical smear tests, and warfarin blood tests (INR). Please note that the GP triage calls that are available to book online will generally need to be booked before 8am on the morning of the appointment. Alternatively, if you need to discuss making an appointment please call the practice on 01373 301301 to speak to one of our care navigators.
It is possible to manage more and more of our healthcare online. At Frome Medical Practice we are keen to encourage and support patients to do this where possible. Patients can now sign up to use the NHS App - a simple and secure way to access a range of NHS services on their smartphone or tablet. Once you have signed up for the NHS App you will need to contact our Digital Health Connector who will register you to use our online services.
If you visit your GP practice you will be asked about whether or not you would recommend your GP surgery to your family and friends, if they need similar treatment or care. This is called 'The Friends and Family Test' and is a national scheme. When you visit the Practice for care or treatment, you will be given the opportunity to give your feedback by answering simple questions about your experience.

Useless booking system. If you're a worker then tough you don't get an appointment! Where myself and hubby work you're unable to have phones on. Yeah they say ring at 8, umm no I'm on my way to work then, driving! Ring after work...sorry all full try again tomorrow at 8, it goes around in circles. Try online booking, midnight to 6am. Ok but I'm asleep because I work! If you're retired, a stay at home mum or just don't work then yeah of course you can get an appointment! Been trying for weeks to get an appointment for my hubby but to no avail!

I would like to thank everyone at Newmedica Frome; Such a lovely place, a modern bright and spotless environment. Newmedica staff were so kind and thoughtful during my two visits for cataract operations. I was so nervous and in quite a panic about everything; but I needn't of worried; The nursing staff and Surgeon were absolutely wonderful. I am so grateful to them. My eyesight has improved so much; I'm so grateful to all the staff at Newmedica Frome . They are wonderful; kind and caring, before during and after the procedure . Five star treatment . Many Thanks .

Terrible appointments policy. Its actually made health conditions worse not being able to book appts easily. It was two weeks before i could even speak to a doctor regarding a positive Lyme test. Here is a hint, dont send letters then multiple calls, that isnt efficient- jist call your patients since mostly telephone appts. Now you cant even book a GP online. Ive now found they gave me treatment that doesnt follow NICE guidelines and i still have to go through this appt line lottery to even speak to anyone.

Nothing but praise for our wonderful Medical Practice. Called just now...telephone appointment in the next 2 hours. Staff on the other end of the phone are always pleasant and helpful. The system they have developed to avoid unnecessary appointments is excellent. Given the size the town has grown to and the technology now available, the Practice had evolved into a first class facility. I count myself very fortunate to attend Frome Medical Practice.

My experience hasn't been great. For the second time I have booked an asthma review (that they contacted me about and suggested) and they have not called me when promised. I also went into the practice a few months ago and found the hand sanitiser was empty, so asked the women at the desk is they had a replacement. They offered no replacement and no urgency in finding anything for me. So I had no sanitiser to use.... in a medical centre.... Lastly I find the phone line / booking system exasperating.

Excellent practice. On the day appointment or advice given, fantastic. The downside is you can't book in a few day time, say yearly check up and this doesn't need to be on the day? Staff excellent.
I was called by phone today at 4pm and I was to get a reply after a in depth consultation and the follow up call next Tuesday, by 5.30 today they called me back, all my questions answered! Can't get better thank you Vic

They have the absolute worst appointment system. You have to call at 8am, wait on hold for at least 45minutes just to be told all appointments are gone and to try again every day until you get one. It’s been 3 weeks and I still haven’t managed to get hold of a doctor. Tried signing up to the app as instructed only to find out it’s not connected to their appointment system. They would really benefit from an overhaul of the whole thing as the practice itself is actually very good and when you arrive check-in is amazing. I just don’t understand why they’ve streamlined the arrivals procedure

The practice itself is great with really helpful staff and the nurses are amazing. But the practice really needs to review its on the day phone policy as it's very clear from other reviews and feedback that it's just not good enough. How can you phone up on the day (when others are trying to also so you can be waiting around 45 minutes) to then not have an appointment so you just try your luck the next day. Or, if you are successful, expect to leave work the same day/have your phone on you if they call back.
