Our individuals are healthcare professionals who are friendly and form an amazing, dedicated team. For information on how best to be seen at the Surgery, select the service or condition you require. Advice: Clinics are held daily at various times. Appointments for blood test MUST have been requested by your doctor or other health care professional.

For warfarin monitoring it is preferred for all samples to be taken at the beginning of the week. If you are in doubt please call to speak to one of our nurses who will advise you. Advice: Baby Vaccination Clinics are run by our Nurse Practitioners and Practice Nurses, appointments needed for Immunisations.
Services
Appointments can be booked by contacting the University Medical Centre Reception Desk: Telephone: 01225 789100. Appointments are currently being booked as telephone consultations in the first instance before patients are able to book to be seen in person at the University Medical Centre.

Telephone consultations may either be a conversation on the telephone or on some occasions, and where appropriate, they may be via a video consultation link with the Doctor, Nurse of Paramedic that you have your appointment booked with.It is very important that when you book a telephone appointment that you are going to be available for the Doctor, Nurse or Paramedic to contact you by telephone.
We have introduced Doctorlink as an opportunity to direct our patients to the best care available to them. This new online service will ask about your symptoms and previous conditions and then offer you the best services based on your answers. For all urgent appointments, we ask that you undertake a symptom assessment through Doctorlink.
There is always a nurse and doctor available for emergency problems when the surgery is closed. The out-of-hours service is provided by B&NES Doctors Urgent Care (BDUC) please call 111. An Urgent Care Centre situated next to the Emergency Department at The Royal United Hospital (RUH) in Bath, GP-led and open 24 hours a day.
Repeat prescriptions will be issued at the doctors' discretion and are normally for patients on long-term medication. Requests for prescriptions can be made in writing, using your repeat prescription slip, by using our online services, or by attending the Practice in person and completing the repeat prescription form in the surgery.
If you will have to pay for four or more prescription items in three months, or more than 15 items in 12 months, you may find it cheaper to buy a PPC. Extensive exemption and remission arrangements protect those likely to have difficulty in paying charges (NHS prescription and dental charges, optical and hospital travel costs).

Had to wait for 20mins on the line at 08:00am to then get a doctor to call 4 hours later. He then told me during the call that coughing up blood was a normal symptom for a common cold and that I should just get through it

I called when I was suffering with my mental health during the pandemic to report my symptoms of depression and anxiety. I was told to change my beliefs and did not require further assistance despite openly admitting to suicidal thoughts to my GP.

Super easy to get an appointment and lovely staff. Cathy, whom I saw, could not have done more to make me feel comfortable. I really appreciated how welcoming and friendly she was, as it made an otherwise uncomfortable experience much less daunting. I would deffo recommend using the Uni Medical centre.

Always quick to obtain appointments, flexible with receiving prescriptions in different places in the UK and happy to support this via phone with doc/ specialist nurses. Tracy was super helpful and even called me after she had finished for the day to ensure I got my prescription whilst on holiday.

I would not recommend any student to use the university medical centre. Even though it may seem convenient the pros of this are considerably let down by the lack of competence and empathy of certain doctors. I feel like I have been completely let down as the doctor failed to refer me on several occasions, which had a negative impact on my health.

Easy and accessible practice with friendly and helpful staff. Making an appointment was quick and simple and I was able to get an appointment that week! My Doctor was great, really professional and genuinely knew his stuff. I was given a treatment that actually worked compared to my last GP practice.
