My daughter and I stayed in this beautiful house in a stunning setting to walk part of the South Downs. From the onset, Richard was very welcoming and gave us plenty of advice for eating out and route plans! Our room had the most fantastic views with little touches such as delicious home made biscuits and a cafetière with ground coffee in addition to a mini fridge with fresh plant milk as requested……nothing was too much trouble!! A perfectly cooked breakfast was served with plenty of choice in a sunny conservatory …..we certainly didn’t go hungry!
Thank you very much to Richard and Judy

Warm, welcoming, clean and friendly. Riverdale House is an elegant Victorian property in a beautiful location. Decor and furnishings are classic and tasteful. Hosts Richard and Judy do their utmost to make it a 'home from home'. The cooked breakfasts were a highlight and they did everything they could to make it easy for us with our twin one year olds! Thank you from all of us.

What a wonderful welcoming B&B as an overnight stop during our South Down Walk. The room was spacious, clean, very comfortable and had a good choice of hot drinks and even a mini fridge. The garden was available with seating to enjoy the wonderful views. It was a short walk from the village with fabulous places to eat. Richard was a great host and so was Jenny who served us our wonderful breakfast. Would definitely visit again.

My cousins and I stayed a few times. Beautiful, comfortable, relaxing rooms with wonderful gardens. Great hosts - friendly and knowledgeable about local walks and where to go and what to see, with the added bonus of delicious breakfasts.
Alfriston is about a 5 minute walk and is a charming, historic village with 2 great 'auld pubs', a lovely church and village green, and lots of little tea shops and stores.
I will definitely visit again 😊
