No 131
Traditional Georgian architecture, eclectic modern design, delicious, all-day dining. No.131 The Promenade is just a stone's throw from the Montpellier district of Cheltenham, and has been named among the best hotels in the Cotswolds.

Located in the middle of Cheltenham, the cultural heart of the Cotswolds, No.131 makes an excellent base for day trips to chocolate box Cotswold villages, not to mention enjoying all the festivals and events Cheltenham has to offer. If it feels like every detail is carefully considered, that's because it is.

Front of house was exceptional and welcoming. The rest of the staff in the dining area looked down there noses at you. And any request was frowned upon like how dare you ask for anything special. It ruined our second wedding anniversary. The general location and hotel was excellent but not worth staying due to rude and stuck up staff. I would avoid if you expect good friendly helpful service. For us it was not worth the price tag very disappointed overall.

Outstanding hotel, our favourite in Cheltenham. Stayed here for a honeymoon weekend a few years ago, and then again last week for a break. Love the decor, staff very friendly, restaurant food amazing and location perfect! Will definitely stay again!

Absolutely amazing vibe and drinks are so well prepped. The food is amazing and the service is friendly and so lovely. Had an amazing birthday dinner there on Friday.

Afternoon tea was OK. Service was poor given the long wait time for our afternoon tea and we believe specifically for the vegan afternoon tea which had been requested many weeks prior and agreed to by the management. Tea was finished or cold by time the food arrived.
The thinking around the 'outside' seating I'm not sure. It is very well setup and warm, with no drafts or obvious ventilation. It didn't feel 'outside' at all - other than for the jaunty angle of our table and some chairs given the underlying paving slabs and gravel. I wouldn't recommend this for those actually wanting an airy or

I took my great niece for breakfast at 131 last Sunday. The service was very poor; the fruit plate came quickly but then we waited over 40 minutes for our hot food. I politely asked the waiter how long it would be, it arrived about 5 minutes later. I'm pretty sure they had forgotten about us. No apology for the late arrival was offered. There was no excuse for the poor service as the restaurant was not busy.

Lovely place to stay ๐Ÿ’œ stayed this weekend with my daughter for some much needed mother daughter time! We had a lovely room, felt really pampered with the facilities in the room, gorgeous bath! It was cosy & inviting & lots of attention to detail. Really nice building, friendly staff, lovely heated marquee for breakfast this morning. Would definitely come back to stay ๐Ÿ’œ also within easy reach of the shopping centre, a lovely park area for just sitting in & for fresh air, and close to lots of eating places too ๐Ÿ˜Š

Didn't stay at the hotel, but had drinks outside under the huge canopies.
What a lovely place to while away an evening.
Cocktails a bit pricey but the bar staff knew their stuff and could make anything we asked for without hesitation. TAKE NOTE IVY BAR STAFF, this is how you need to be trained.
Saturday evening busy as expected, but we returned sunday afternoon and it was very quiet and relaxed.
Definitely worth a visit

My wife and I had a fantastic stay at the No 131 Hotel. The staff were great, friendly helpful and went the extra mile. We will definitely be coming back for a special night away again in the future.

Below par and overpriced. Happy to pay those prices but expect better in return. This place seems to think itโ€™s something itโ€™s not. Could most definitely do better. Wonโ€™t be rushing back.
Upon arrival we were dumped under a gas heater and ignored for 10 minutes. It was 25 minutes before our aperitif arrived, after our starter. The wine was below average and the food variable. Some was great, some average. The Gin bar was fancy, but churns out average drinks at above average prices. We have had much better experiences elsewhere.
As a result, we kicked the included 12.5% service charge, which

Dined here for the first time recently. We initially were told by the first hostess that there were no tables available that evening. After our persistance, another hostess came over and told us there would be a table available in a 45 minutes. Once our table was ready, we were seated but it took forever for anyone to come over to our table. Our waitress was also acting as hostess, making the wait for everything incredibly long. We had to get her attention to order drinks then food. She was not very friendly nor accommodating. Then, as we were eating dinner, we were told that we needed to eat faster

It would be foolish and rather naive to believe that other UK towns and cities can't compete with uber cool places in London, like Hackney and Shoreditch, and Cheltenham is living proof of that.

131 & Crazy Eights puts me in mind of the Soho House group - well thought out, well executed and never simply a case of style over substance. All strands are cohesive and seemingly effortless. In the past, I've had low expectations from the food in highly styled places like this; and yet, so often lately I am pleasantly surprised. London may be the food capital of the world but there has
