Providing care for cats, dogs, small pets, horses and farms throughout the Knaresborough, Harrogate, Ripon and Wetherby area. Our out of hours service is provided by our own vets who are on call 24 hours a day, 365 days a year! Our caring and experienced vets all routinely work with cats, dogs, horses and farm animals.
We offer a complete service for our small patients at the surgery. For our large patients - We Come To You. There's no need to transport your horse for X-ray or Endoscopy, we'll do it in your stable. Every 4 years, we are thoroughly inspected by the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons to ensure that we continue to meet all of the required standards to provide a high quality service.

Services
We are the ONLY vets in Knaresborough and Harrogate that provide a 24 hour service for our regular clients. Every day, night, weekend and bank holiday there is a vet on call to deal with emergencies. We have all the facilities to deal with an emergency including running blood tests, performing surgery and administering i/v fluids or medicines.
We offer a complete range of services and facilities to provide the highest standard of care. Protect your newest family member with a full initial course of vaccinations for just 49.96 inc VAT. Every vaccination course includes a full health check, 5 weeks free pet insurance with Agria*, free monthly follow-up checks with our nurses (until 6 months old).
The inclusive plans provide a great way to budget for the routine care of your animals and save money with exclusive discounts. We believe that prevention is better than cure, rather than waiting until a pet is ill and suffering to put things right. Early diagnosis of health problems will help your pet to live a long and healthy life.
Cats have an extraordinary ability to hide signs of illness. This is because in the wild the cat can be either prey or predator and if it shows signs of weakness it may attract attention. Thus, preventive care and routine health checks are even more important in picking up early signs of disease as your cat reaches the mature life stage (7 years old and upwards).
Whilst advances in veterinary medicine mean we can do more for your pet, treatment costs can soon mount up. We recommend insurance to all our clients to help cover unexpected vets bills. You may be surprised to hear that you are more likely to claim on your pet insurance than your car or household policies.

I received an excellent service from this practice - both out of hours and follow-up when needed. Not only did all the staff go that extra mile, they showed that for them it is more than a job! They enjoy what they do and as well as providing exemplary care for our pets, they keep the owners well informed at every step during periods of anxiety. Superb team approach and cannot praise them enough

I know covid is still relevant but I do wish I could have taken both my dogs into the appointment as one is a comfort to the other. However the surgery itself is clean, tidy, and the staff friendly. There is a car park for the surgery with enough room or there is a pay and display car park a little way down the road.
Edit: Forest house have responded to my review and assured me that both dogs would have been welcome.
I wonder if the day I went there was a misunderstanding of some kind. Either way it's nice to have the response and the reassurance that on my next visit both dogs can come in..thank

An excellent, friendly and professional practice. Graham Barlow always treats my cat so kindly and really takes an interest in her. When she was recently diagnosed with a condition requiring specialist intervention Graham went above and beyond doing considerable research and contacting colleagues in order to source the best treatment possible within our budget. I am extremely grateful and can't recommend him highly enough.

My 8 month old puppy died alone, in a cage at this practice.
After ringing the emergency, out of hours vet 3 times he finally agreed to come out to the surgery to see our puppy at approximately 1.30 in the morning.
After various tests (heart beat, temperature etc) we were told the puppy would have to stay in overnight in what (I thought at the time) was their capable hands.
Steven took blood tests etc then at 4am left him alone (I presume on a drip) in a cage. When the nurse came in the following morning Frank had passed away and was lying in blood from his mouth and bottom.
He must have wondered
