Merry Lees Park
Ideally situated in beautiful woodlands only 8 minutes drive from Scarborough. The seaside resorts of Filey, Bridlington and Whitby are all within a 20 minute car journey. The park offers a truly unique quiet country retreat for the discerning holiday home owner. The owners of Merry lees have consciously planned the park around the woodland instead of the usual regimented lines of caravans so often found on other parks.

This gives the park a very natural feel with plenty of open spaces. Situated between the stunning Yorkshire Coast and the beautiful North Yorkshire Moors National Park, Merry Lees is the perfect base from which to visit Whitby Harbour, Castle Howard, Sewerby Hall and many other interesting places.

Purchased our caravan in summer 2021 and couldn’t be happier.. the site is beautiful, yes there’s a busy road next to it but anyone who buys is aware of it and it’s in no way dangerous to the site.. the owners and park warden can not do enough to make you feel welcome on site. We can honestly say it’s the best decision we made and enjoy our regular stays in our second home

Merry Lees is a lovely, peaceful site, ideal for people who love nature . It is surrounded by woodland and the caravans nestle in the beautiful grounds offering views of the pond or woods. Birds are encouraged by the many feeding stations dotted about and the resident ducks are regularly seen patrolling the grounds! The perfect place to unwind and escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

We knew several people with caravans on this site so just over a year ago we decided to join them and purchased a nice caravan close to the road side on a new part of the park that had recently been developed to fit 5 static caravans on. The first few visits we made we noticed that the road noise was on some occasions very loud with the large 40ft vehicles and on regular occasion motorbikes doing in excess of 70 mph with some of them sounding as if they were coming through the caravan , we also on a regular basis had glasses and plates in the cupboards vibrating together .After putting up with

I think any glowing reviews will definitely be for the units and the biker cafe which has now moved to another location anyway.
How you could possibly say this is a relaxing place for a static caravan holiday is beyond me as it’s one of the noisiest locations ever. The static caravans back almost up to the A64 where the traffic is horrendous, fast and furious and almost constant. There is no barrier between the caravans and the road so there is potentially a catastrophic accident waiting to happen, should a vehicle leave the carriageway in an accident.
It is a pretty site in that there are

I was sad to read a negative review for this wonderful park. Surely you viewed the site prior to purchase. We cannot recommend this park enough. It is a woodland park so I do not want to see trees manicured to within an inch of their life. Our plot is not much further back from the plot which placed this unfair review, we do not have excessive traffic noise yes it’s there but it doesn’t warrant any complaints earlier in the season the birdsong drowned it out completely. We purchased our van on this park as it met our needs since being here it has surpassed what we wanted in a woodland park

As we approach the end of our 26th season at Merry Lees, we have been reflecting on how it has always been such a haven for us. When we were working, it was a haven from the classroom and the office; now that we are retired it is still our haven of peace and tranquillity. We find ourselves measuring the seasons by the appearance of the flowers on the park: first the snowdrops, then a profusion of daffodils followed by bluebells and then the magnificent display of the rhododendrons. The landscape is always expertly tended, with natural beauty being the order of the day to ensure a haven not only

What a excellent site. We have a static on this site and had it for 3 years we absolutely love it Its so relaxing to watch all the birds and wildlife feeding as well as the ducks and their young playing on the lake. It’s well maintained as well as an untouched woodland for the birds to nest. Friendly and helpful owners and staff nothing is too much trouble
