Folke Manor Farm and Holiday Cottages are located in the beautiful Blackmore Vale area of North Dorset. We are off the beaten track and set within the peaceful grounds of the farm, which has two large ponds and we overlook the stunning countryside. There is plenty of wildlife to be seen - herons, kingfishers, woodpeckers, swans and squirrels, to name a few, and there is also a network of footpaths adjoining the fields.
Local attractions include Monkey World, The Tank Museum, Yeovilton Fleet Air Arm Museum and the Sealife Centre. Abbotsbury Swannery is about 30 miles away and Longleat 33 miles. For people who play golf, we have a course 500 yards away and there are also two pubs within walking distance. Weymouth & Lyme Regis are only 30-45 minutes away.

Services
Folke Manor Farm is a family-run business (with our own pedigree herd of Charolais beef cattle) where you can make your holiday anything you want it to be. The high quality accommodation offers a comfortable place to relax and enjoy some of the many activities that are available in the nearby towns of Sherborne and Dorchester.
Sherborne Old Castle is a romantic 12th century ruin set in beautiful grounds next to New Sherborne Castle. After withstanding two sieges during the Civil War, only the Southwest Gatehouse and parts of the castle, including the Great Tower and the North Range, now survive.
Loved by Sir Walter Ralegh, he leased the castle but when he was imprisoned in the Tower of London for marrying one of Queen Elizabeth I's maids of honour without her permission, it was then leased out but remained a favourite home of the famous explorer. The castle grounds are a haven for wildlife and birds and it is an ideal spot for a picnic where you can take in the beautiful views across the surrounding countryside.

Great place for a break in the Dorset countryside. We went in November and stayed in WOODPECKER cottage which is accessible and very disabled friendly. The cottage is equiped with everything you would need. The onsite swimming pool is a great facility, accessiblew and just the right temperature. There a numerous attractions within a 30 minute drive.
All in all highly recommended.

The fourth time we have stayed here. I love the place.
The pool is a real bonus.
A great place to base yourself for a family holiday if, like us, you enjoy days out and about but love the peace of the countryside to.
The owners are lovely, the accommodation comfortable and well equipped.
I would have given 5 stars , but this time the usual cleanliness wasn't there. Huge cobwebs and dirty floors let it down. But it didn't impact on another great holiday.
