St. Peter's provides a caring, learning environment underpinned by Christian faith, belief and values where everybody is given the opportunity to grow and fulfil their true potential, just like the Mustard Seed in the Parable of the Mustard Seed, Matthew 13:32.At St. Peter's, we are 'Growing and Learning together' so we can become strong and dependable, just like the Mustard Seed, Matthew 13:32.

Services
St. Peter's School is a one form entry co-educational voluntary aided Church of England primary school within the Manchester Diocese. We cater for children aged 3 to 11 years. The school has provision for 210 children, 30 Reception, [The Foundation Stage] 60 Infants [Key Stage 1] and 120 Juniors [Key Stage 2].
All pupils should have labelled wellington boots in school and a water bottle. Our PE Day is Monda and pupils should come into school in warm outdoor clothes (trainers, coat, joggers etc). We will notify when this will begin. RWI Home School Challenges and also Book Bag Books will be sent out every Friday via Ping.
New reading books will be given out on Fridays and should be returned to school on Monday. Please try to read with your child and talk about what they have read at least twice over the weekend. We will be reading Boris Starts School by Carrie Weaton and The Good Mood Hunt By Hiawyn Oram. You can now follow our class on Twitter, we post photos and videos of lots of things that happen in Year 1 every day!
Our topic this half term is Footprints from the Past, which is all about dinosaurs and fossils. We are all very excited about this topic and can't wait to learn where dinosaurs came from, what they did and why they are now extinct! For a more in-depth look at our curriculum, come back each half term to find the latest updates and our Medium Term Plans.
Spellings will be sent out via Ping every monday and your children will be tested in school the following Monday. Please encourage your children to play on Times Table Rockstars every night for their maths homework- we will be checking this and rewarding the children with fish. Reading books will be sent home each week with your child, please encourage your child to read this and then return it the following week, so the book can be changed.
