Located in beautiful parkland adjacent to Oakerthorpe Woods and offers not only superb views across local countryside but also a well kept and challenging layout that can be appreciated by all levels of golfer. Our greens are among the best in the county. Visitors and Societies are very welcome to sample the course and hospitality of Alfreton Golf Club.
Many of our visiting Societies have become old 'friends' returning year after year. The club has a thriving ladies section with regular competitions on Tuesday, Thursday and several weekends. Our junior section is a great success with competitions on Thursday evenings.

Our 10 hole course is located in beautiful parkland adjacent to Oakerthorpe Woods and offers not only superb views across local countryside but also a well kept and challenging layout that can be appreciated by all levels of golfer. Our greens are among the best in the county. Towards the end of 2019 we moved to a new course layout that incorporates a new par 5 as the third and thirteenth holes, adding around 500 yards to the course.
Our Pro Nev Hallam is well regarded, not only at the golf club but within the county as the Pro to go to for Custom Fit clubs and repairs. He has an "AAT Advanced Professional" status within the P.G.A. As well as his club work Nev is one of only 10 Tutors, Examiners and Markers in the country working for the P.G.A. Training Academy, Equipment Technology Department based at the Belfry.
Alfreton's golf course is always presented to players in a super condition. It is generally recognised that our greens are some of the best in the county. This is a testament to our Green keeping staff, volunteers and the Head of our Greens Committee Roger Foster. We are pleased to announce the appointment of Andy Ryder as our new Head green keeper.
I am honoured and delighted to be representing Alfreton Golf Club as Lady Captain 2021 and with the support of my Vice Captain Beryl Stewart we welcome new and existing members. A big thank you to our out going Ladies Captain, Linda Baston, who worked hard during the difficult year that was 2020. Our course is a challenging one, set in beautiful Derbyshire countryside.
Here at Alfreton we cater for all types of junior golfers, from beginners of any age up until the age of 18 years. There are two categories of membership - Academy membership - this category is for Juniors who do not have a CONGU handicap and our Premiership which is for Juniors who have a CONGU handicap.

Played here for the first time with a friend as this is very local, once we got to grips with how the course works with silver & gold tees we was fine, some great holes, greens in great condition & the staff we met were very friendly, shout out for the grounds man very helpful in telling us how the course works as itโs only 10 holes, but we played 18, we both scored well for saying we was finding our feet.
