Every golfer is different and here at Matlock Golf Club every golf lesson is unique to the individual. Established in 1906 on the undulating moorland above the town of Matlock, the eastern gateway to the Peak District National Park, our Club offers a challenging 18-hole par 70 course with spectacular views across the Derwent Valley and unrivalled practice facilities, including a 10 bay covered and floodlit driving range.

With every hole different and the Bentley Brook meandering through the course to add further interest, Matlock is a regular choice for county and inter-county fixtures and each year welcomes many other visitors - individuals, societies and corporate groups.
Services
Christian has been part of Matlock Golf Club since 1989 when he joined as a junior member working his way to his current position as The Club Professional. Prior to becoming a Professional, Christian completed a Bsc (Hons) degree in Sport and Recreation Management and then returned to Matlock Golf Club to undertake his PGA training.
The opening tee shot often creates additional pressure; so don't automatically pull out your driver. Aim to the right half of the fairway as the ground falls away to the left. From there, you are hitting into an elevated green cut into the hillside slope, always take an extra club for the elevation change!
At Matlock Golf Club our aim is to provide you with an excellent and enjoyable opportunity to practise both your long game, as well as your short game. The 10 flood-lit bays provide a state-of-the-art golfing facility. We pride ourselves on using only the highest quality mats and 'Premium 2 Piece' range balls.
The Professional Shop is an authorised fitting stockist for the following brands; Ping, Taylormade, Mizuno, Callaway, Titleist and Odyssey. The state of the art Custom Fitting Centre uses the latest Launch Monitor Technology - GC2 - and carries Custom Fitting equipment for the brands stocked. Custom Fittings take 60 minutes for a Woods or Irons Fitting and 90 minutes for a complete bag fitting - woods and irons.
The combination of a course that challenges but does not overwhelm, a first class catering service and the friendly service provided by our house and professional staff makes Matlock an ideal choice for a first class corporate outing. If you are the organiser of a golf tour, Matlock makes an attractive base for your group with a host of tourist sites such as Haddon Hall, Chatsworth and the Peak District National Park on the doorstep.

Another great golf course that I have been to up North. Superb condition around all of the course and not just the greens. Will need to use good course management around it as some of the holes have a camber on the fairways so its quite fun and some of the greens can be quite exciting too.
The food in the club house is really really good especially washed down with the beer on tap and the staff are very nice. Will be going down again in the next week and I can't wait!!

Very friendly club. Very pretty layout, with great views towards Riber castle and beyond. Some challenging greens, breaks need to be double checked, so keeps you on your toes. Some real risk reward holes. And my favourite bit, the flora is superb and varied , so even if your golfs not so good, you can enjoy being on the course

Played recently in the Mizuno Match Play vs a couple of members. The course is an absolute hidden gem. Beautiful scenery, and a lovely set up of a course that means after the first 2/3 holes you are winding out through the countryside away from the rest of civilisation. Some challenging and well thought out holes, combined with some beautiful short par 4s / par 3s that have elevated tees and allow you to have a go at scoring well. Attention to detail round the course was good, fairways in good condition, greens were superb and the practice facilities are right up there with a full driving range

Good challenging course, a bit hilly at times but well looked after. I would recommend if you're in the area.
