Ard-Na-Said, one of Edinburgh's best bed and breakfasts with free parking, is located in the peaceful Newington area on the south side of the city centre. It is near to Holyrood Park, and within walking distance of the city's attractions and restaurants. Ard-Na-Said Guest house is certainly the ideal location to enjoy all that Edinburgh has to offer and still be able to retreat from the hustle and bustle of the city centre.
Built on the Prestonfield estate in 1876, our detached Victorian villa has many original features such as high ceilings, ornate cornicing, stained glass windows and original Victorian geometric floor tiles. Our elegant breakfast room has recently been refurbished to create a communal, comfortable space which can also be enjoyed throughout the day and evening.

Services
Rick Steves recommended us in his Edinburgh travel guide so you can be guaranteed a high standard. Our rooms, named after famous Scottish people, are located on the ground floor and first floor (accessed from a wide staircase). Each floor has its own Wi-Fi access point therefore every room has excellent internet access.
Our main priority is the safety of our guests and team. Please bear with us while we try to adapt to government guidelines to create a safe environment for all. We have changed how we operate for the time being and breakfast will now be served in your room with a reduced menu. First of all, we appreciate the importance of a good breakfast.
Edinburgh, Scotland's capital since at least the 15th century, is known globally for its history, architecture, wealth of cultural attractions, wonderful scenery and over 2000 places to eat. Ard-Na-Said Guest House, on the South Side of the City is well placed for enjoying all that Edinburgh has to offer and also some places in our neighbourhood.

Beautiful hotel, amazing views gorgeous big room, delightfully comfortable bed and amazing host. Close to all amenities which was great and we walked everywhere even though we have a car. We were able to charge our hybrid which is also a bonus
Only negative, and the only reason I haven't given a 5 star is the breakfast... due to COVID19 breakfast was served on a roll in foil packaging and brought to our room this is a shame. If you chose breakfast, my suggestion would be to take it with you for a picnic eg egg sandwich, sausage sandwich etc.
Nevertheless I would definitely return.

Beautiful place to stay in an incredible location, and at a very reasonable price. The way the hotel was handling social distancing, health and safety was even better than we could've hoped for. The only downside was a terrible smell in the windowless ensuite which built up if we left the bedroom windows closed during the day (everything otherwise seemed very clean). This said, we would definitely stay there again.

Absolutely fantastic stay for a mini family reunion in Edinburgh. We can’t wait to come back!
Comfortable beds, beautiful rooms, lovely touches throughout. The breakfasts (and cakes during the day!!) deserve an extra special mention: excellent choice, quality and service.
We have already booked our next visit ;-)

I had a bad experience at this bed and breakfast. I would not recommend anyone to stay there. I travel approximately 100 nights a year and have never been treated so poorly at any accommodations.
First the pros:
-This is truly a lovely house
-Good proximity if you're going to hike to Arthur's Seat
-Breakfast was nice, and served by Jim, with his dry Scottish wit. Jim was also funny in our emails before the stay
-We had an early flight when we left, and they packed a breakfast for us the night before.
-Wifi was good.
Now the cons:
-This is clear on the map, but it's not very walk
