Bowden House Day Nursery
Bowden House has a strong and established team which has been graduate led since 2010. We have a high rate of staff retention and this is in part due to our focus on training and development as well as our team ethos and small nurturing environment. All our room leaders hold a level three qualification in child care.

Two of our room leaders are also currently working towards their Early Years degrees. Our other practitioners also hold their level three NVQ qualification and our three students are currently working towards their level three and two qualifications.
Services
Our sensory room offers the opportunity for children of all ages to explore using their senses such as touch, sight and hearing as well as physical play utilising the soft play equipment, tunnels and tents. Different moods can be created in the room by using various lighting techniques, sensory DVD's and sounds of nature CD's, creating an atmospheric environment to explore the activities in.
The First Steps room provides a warm, secure and nurturing environment for 6 babies from 6 months of age. Due to the small size of our group of babies, they get lots of time devoted to them by the highly qualified and experienced practitioners based in this room.

Our practitioners support and encourage the children by providing a range of stimulating activities based on observations carried out on the children's interests and next steps development.Within the room we have a role play area, small world play, song and story baskets, construction and sensory play area providing an enabling environment where the children can learn and develop through play.
We have 12 children within our Early Years room which provides an environment which caters for the rapid development and emotional needs of two year olds. The room is set up to provide a wide range of stimulating activities based upon observations from key workers reflecting on the childrens individual interests and developmental needs.
Within the Pre-School room we have 16 places where our aim is to provide a rich learning environment which offers the opportunity for children to explore a variety of activities based upon the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS). Sessions can be either full, part time or fully funded.

Practitioners within Pre-School are developing more outdoor opportunities based around Forest School training where we will have our own mud kitchen, and with the children, will develop activities which involve learning within the environment and using natural resources such as leaves, twigs, mud paintings and petal perfumes.
Joe Beans a dance and movement class attend the setting each week. The children participate in a range of activities which encourage the children to develop their physical and creative skills. They learn to express themselves to music, and develop their imaginative skills in the way that they act out different scenarios from being under the sea to walking through the jungle or a haunted house.
