Burley Oaks Primary School is a fantastic school where both children and adults work together as an incredibly strong team. We are very proud of all our children and our many successes. Visitors to the school often remark on a positive, hardworking atmosphere with a strong sense of team spirit and celebration.
We strive to enjoy our learning and make it as much fun and as meaningful and relevant as possible. We offer children an excellent education in a safe, calm, creative, inclusive and stimulating environment. Every child is valued as an individual; we aim to nurture well rounded, respectful and confident children who will develop skills for life-long learning.

Don't ignore what's happening, because your children - especially those with histories of trauma - will pick up on the fact that things are unexpectedly different in their worlds. Be calm and clear in any explanations. If you sense a child is becoming anxious about it, call it out casually: I noticed you might be a bit anxious about something.
Our full policy outlining the procedures in place to support a continued, coherent learning offer in cases of school closures can be read below. In the event of a bubble closure or a child being required to self-isolate due to contact with an infected person outside of school, remote learning will be provided.
Step-by-step parent instructions on how to access and use Google Classroom can be downloaded below. We have also added a useful Parent Guide. We would suggest that after accessing your child's classroom, you and your child familiarise yourself with the platform together. This is where teachers will set work and send a daily message within the class stream.
All schools must promote the fundamental British values of democracy, the rule of law, individual liberty and mutual respect and tolerance of those with different faiths and beliefs. Burley Oaks is committed to and aware of our responsibilities towards the government's PREVENT AGENDA as part of our ongoing work regarding Safeguarding and Child Protection.
Children are admitted into Reception in the September following their fourth birthday. Parents can request that the date their child is admitted to the school is deferred until later in the year or until the term in which the child reaches compulsory school age. Parents can also request that their child takes up the place part-time until the child reaches compulsory school age.

I have brought to, and collected from school my two grandchildren - 'E and E' - on many occasions. I have also been invited along to some events and have visited the school office. I have always been impressed by the caring attitudes of the staff and the wonderful playground activities available to the children.
I have always been treated with great respect and have been happy to know that my grandchildren attend this school. A big thank you.
