We try to make every trip to the vets a pleasurable one; we know how stressful it can be for both you and your pet.
If your pet has a vet phobia, do tell us when making your appointment as there is plenty we can do to help. Because we are a small practice, you will see the same faces at each visit and be sure of good continuity of care. However, we still have enough vets and nurses to be able to share our knowledge and experience to ensure the best outcome for your pet.

Helen is the boss! She is well established in the area having moved here in 1997 when she started working for the practice. Previously she'd worked in West Cumbria, Lancashire and Nepal, the latter with VSO as a volunteer teacher of Animal Health workers for 3 years. Prior to that she spent time travelling through China where she studied veterinary acupuncture.
We are easy to find on Crosscroft Industrial Estate on the outskirts of Appleby. See map. There is ample parking outside the practice. The parking area is chippings but, should your dog dislike walking on a rough surface you can reverse up to the building onto the tarmac apron. The waiting room is spacious and we have a separate cat waiting area to help keep our feline friends calm.
These are nutraceuticals products which have medicinal effects but aren't regulated medicines. Yora Dog food is made from insect protein and has the lowest carbon footprint of any food, by far! It is tasty (Helen's dog is fed on it and wolf's her food down) and fulfills all requirements for growth and maintenance of a healthy body.
