Lauriston Nursery is a family run, an independent nursery specialising in baby to pre-school childcare and education. We believe that looking after your child is a huge responsibility which is why we take it so seriously. Our job is to make sure all of the children in our care are safe, nurtured, active and healthy.
Both our nurseries were purpose built which means they have been designed for learning and the ways in which children play and interact. From 6 weeks to 5 years old your child will be cared for, nurtured and stimulated every day they are with us, with a range of activities to help develop your child's thirst for learning and knowledge.

Services
Our first nursery, Lauriston Dunfermline opened in 2009 in our own custom-built building, where we set our sights on becoming one of the best nurseries in Fife. Over the years we have continued with that commitment as we have grown. Our building is fully accessible with disabled access throughout and has its own carpark with allocated spaces for parents dropping off and picking up at the nursery.
In 2016 we opened Lauriston Kinross. Taking on board all of our learning from our continual improvement of our Dunfermline nursery; Lauriston Kinross was purpose-built with the interior layout designed to our exacting standards. This started with the exterior of the building, with dedicated drop off and pick up parking spaces right outside our door which helps parents make their visits to nursery safer as there are no busy roads to cross.
For many little ones, our baby room may be their first time away from their parents, which is why we will work with you to create an individual care plan for your baby. Our qualified staff will talk through your baby's home routine and incorporate that into their time at nursery. Every Lauriston baby has an electronic diary which enables our staff to update you on their progress and for you to tell us about key developments at home.
This is an exciting time for children as they begin to toddle, walk and develop fine motor skills. Our Toddler Room allows your child to explore and develop a real sense of independence, both on their feet and during play. At this key developmental stage, we encourage indoor and outdoor learning through play.
As your child continues to grow and develop, they will move on to the Tweenie Room where they will be nurtured and given the opportunity to learn through a range of activities. For this age group, learning through play is key and the range of activities in our Tweenie Room will encourage your child to be independent in their activities while developing key cognitive, language and social skills.

We have been part of Lauriston nursery for the past 6 years since my eldest son started. My 2nd has just graduated and my 3rd is in the toddler room. They have all been happy to be dropped off in the morning after their initial settling in time. There are always a range of fun experiences for them to participate in. The staff work hard to build up a rapport with the children and I appreciate the time taken to give each child one to one attention. I have had many communications with the management team over the years and have always found them to be so helpful with any requests. I have no hesitation

My son has benefited from a year at Lauriston nursery, and I have been consistently very impressed by all aspects of the provision they provide. They are so responsive to the needs of each individual child, and he has come on so much over his time there. Staff are friendly, professional, warm and approachable and have such a genuine affection for the kids, it really is a special place. I would, without any hesitation, recommend this nursery to anyone looking for the best pre-school start for their child. I honestly cannot praise it highly enough!
