Services
We have an excellent reputation for orthopaedic surgery and are fully equipped to carry out a wide range of orthopaedic procedures. Tibial tuberosity advancement surgery (TTA) is routinely carried out to repair damaged cruciate ligaments in dogs, and has produced some excellent results. The practice reputation as a centre of excellence in orthopaedics has been in place for a number of years.
Our cats are important to us and we want to do the very best to keep them happy and healthy. As well as the pleasure of having a feline friend in your life, cat ownership brings responsibilities and if you are thinking of buying a new cat, you should weigh up the time and commitment involved.
Cats, like other pets, are protected under the law within the Animal Welfare Act 2006 which means that anyone caring for a cat (even temporarily) has a duty to care for him or her properly. One in three pets will require veterinary treatment each year. The treatment may be a one-off problem such as a road traffic accident or it may be an going problem such as diabetes which can result in costs which are not planned for.

We believe that nutrition is an important part of keeping pets healthy and can also play a vital part in the treatment of some illnesses. This is why we stock a select range of cat and dog pet food in practice, helping to take the faff out of pet food for our clients by recommending diets that have been scientifically created to provide optimal nutrition, which tastes great!
We've partnered with Video Vets Now so you can speak to a vet from home or out and about - 7 days a week between 8am and 11pm. Consults are 10 mins and cost 24. If your pet needs to be seen by us or Vets Now, your original 24 payment will be refunded. We partnered with Video Vets Now to help you get the advice and reassurance you need, wherever you are.

It was our first visit to Gatehouse. From the minute we entered we were greeted by friendly staff. The level of service is exceptional but more importantly the care provided was second to none. As we both work the fact that Gatehouse are open at weekend is a bonus. Although it was only our first visit We couldn't want more from a vet.
A big Thank You to all Gatehouse staff

The Gatehouse Veterinary Surgery have always provided a first class service even during Covid. All of the staff are friendly and welcoming. My GSD is always nervous when she enters the vet but everyone talks to her and puts her at ease. The consultation is always unrushed even when they are rushed off their feet and if running late, due to emergencies, they always keep you informed. The care they provide is excellent.

I adopted a little cat called Smuge from Allerton cat rescue and Gatehouse veterinary group kindly let me take Smudge in and gave him some injections to try and help his cat flu. He's not very well still and is currently in the PDSA Pet Hospital as an impatient but I'm still giving a 5* for taking on so many cats from the rescue and giving them a chance at life and seeing to them even though they don't have to. Thank you for the amazing stuff you do for animals and the rescue I got my Smudge from.

Gatehouse has been the vets my family have used for years and since getting my own dogs they have been nothing but excellent. They always see us quickly with an urgent issue and I feel they are priced fairly. My older lab was recently spayed and they couldn't have been better. Would fully recommend.

This vet practice at Allerton is highly recommended. Welcoming environment - the friendly staff take the time to ensure your pets are at ease. The vet is excellent. Thorough health check service with a high standard of care. The pet club it runs is of great value.

This is an easy to reach vets surgery on the main road of allerton and on the main bus route in and out of bradford town centre. The bus stop is just outside so that is also a plus.
While it is a small surgery it is very well run and very clean and tidy. The staff are lovely and pleasant and go out of their way to make sure you understand what is going on with your pet. The head vet is quite stern and hard to like but the more times you go the more you get to understand why he is like that and come to appreciate him as while he isnt that good with humans he is brilliant with animals.
