Since moving to Level Zero restrictions have eased in many areas of life. However with the recent rises in the number of people being infected care is still required. We are still abiding by the guidelines set out by the NHS on how Opticians are required to operate. We must continue with the wearing of our masks and the relevant PPE.
You must wear a mask when you enter. We will still operate with our locked door policy to control numbers entering. We are maintaining our strict cleaning routines and our appointments remain extended to allow for this. If you have been putting off having your eyes checked or your glasses updated then now is a good time to do something about it.

Services
At Brian Michie Opticians we stock a wide range of quality frames. They come in a variety of sizes and colours as well as shapes and styles. We cater for very young children through to teenage years and up to the more mature age group. Frame prices vary but will accommodate most budgets whether the need is for a designer look to wear all the time or a more basic pair for wearing only occasionally.
The business is now known as Brian Michie OPTICIANS. Including Brian the staff have over 70 years of experience in optics. This is unrivalled in most businesses. We operate with high standards of customer care and our focus is on trying to please you. We will strive to use only the best of products and manufacturers for our Frames, Spectacle Lenses, Contact Lenses and Contact Lens Solutions.
Our top priority is the safety of our patients and our team so you will see that we have changed the way things are done in order to take the very best care of you. It goes without saying that you should not come to see us if you have a temperature, persistent cough, loss or change of taste/smell or you have been in contact with anyone with symptoms.
An eye examination has two purposes. The first is to check the vision is good enough for the persons needs and to correct any defect found with glasses (or contact lenses) if it is required. The second is to ensure that the eyes are healthy both inside and out. Having the eyes examined on a regular basis at the same place means any subtle changes are detected much sooner.
At Brian Michie OPTICIANS we are happy to examine the eyes of children in any age group. A child does not need to be at school or be confident with their alphabet in order to have their eyes tested. Testing of a baby under 6 months is usually only carried out if the parents or health workers feel there is an issue with the eyes.
