This is where Finbar's Friends steps in to provide home from home boarding for dogs. We do our very best to keep to your dog's usual routine, there are no kennels and your dog lives with us in our home.

Services
Jo grew up with dogs, cats and horses and is the besotted owner of Finbar, a black Labrador Retriever. It was Finbar who gave Jo the idea to start offering home boarding to like-minded owners who didn't want to put their dogs in traditional boarding kennels; friends had also asked Jo to home-board their dogs, so Finbar's Friends was formed.
Before any dog comes to stay with us, for either doggy day care or overnight dog boarding stays, Jo & Finbar like to arrange a meeting to make sure everyone gets on and owners can see where their dog will be staying. This helps us to get an understanding of what your dog does on a day to day basis, their likes, dislikes, any little habits they might have, feeding, any regular medication and type of exercise taken etc.
For dog home boarding and doggy day care your pet must be fully vaccinated, including kennel cough (copies of the certificates will need to be provided) and also be up to date with regular flea and worming preventative treatments. Your dog must be well socialised with people and other dogs, friendly, neutered or spayed, house trained, well behaved, non-aggressive and not destructive.
Home boarding means your dog stays in our house as part of the family, living alongside us, there are no kennels! This provides a much more normal experience for your dog than a traditional boarding kennel and is a great alternative to kennels for dogs. To qualify for a licence you have to be inspected by Cheshire West & Cheshire Council's Animal Welfare Officer to be deemed suitable for day care and overnight home boarding of dogs.
Poppy and Dolly love their holidays since becoming Finbar's Friends! They are very happy to be dropped off and I know they will be looked after extremely well by Joanne who can't do enough for them. They always return home sweet smelling and looking fit. A big thank you to Joanne for looking after Meg during a family holiday.

Finbar’s Friends is without doubt in a league of its own when it comes to doggie daycare and boarding. My Yorkshire terrier Enzo has been a regular day and overnight boarder since he was a puppy and he bounds out of the car with excitement when we arrive. The facilities are outstanding but what really stands out is Jo’s care and expertise. The dogs… are truly made to feel like they are at home away from home- so much so that Enzo rarely wants to leave when I go to collect him! We are truly spoilt to have such a safe and happy haven for our fur babies. Enzo has as much fun on

Cannot recommend Finbar’s Friends enough! After trialing several other home boarders in the area absolutely nothing compares, Dolly our Cockerpoo absolutely loves her time spent with Finbar and all his Friends. Jo goes above and beyond and helps in anyway she can she treats all the dogs as if they were her own who could ask for anything more! 🐶 🐾

Timber, our 4yr old cockapoo has been going to Jo's since he was a puppy and loves Jo, Paul and his doggy friends so much that he starts crying half a mile before we get there! He is always happy to race off to see everyone when we drop him off, and equally delighted to see us when we pick him up - testament in itself to the great job Jo does and the ease the dogs feel there. Our dogs, Bud, Sweep & Boots have just come back from their holidays with Finbar & some of her friends - They absolutely LOVE going to stay. Whilst there they have an amazing time running around with all their new friends. Jo has a brilliant setup with a big area to run around in that is extremely safe. Everywhere is clean & well kept. The only… concern that I had was that the 3 dogs wouldn't want to come home!! Thanks again for an absolutely top class service. B S & B send their love and are crossing their paws that they get chance to come & stay again soon!!
