This is a lovely place to stay. Lake is full of fish. My partner normally has to put up with poor toilets and other facilities when I am fishing but not here it is a clean well kept site. Facilities are very clean, fresh flowers in the shower block. Even has some bits and bobs in case you forget your shampoo!
What a wonderful site. Very welcoming from the phone call to book, on arrival and throughout the weekend. We arrived on the Friday night, and after being shown to our pitch, which was nice and level, we hooked up and walked to the local pub in the village about a 10 minute walk, there is also a shop in the same village too.
Most years I like to try to visit a couple of venues I've never fished before. I just like the process of getting to know a new water, finding out its potential, how best to fish it etc. On a local fishing forum I'd come across the name Westerly Lake, and checking out its website it seemed to offer the sort of fishing I was looking for.

Long time since we stayed at this site due to ill health. Barbara 10 out of 10. The man isn’t very friendly. There are notices absolutely everywhere. Don’t do this don’t do that. Hopefully by now they will have removed the signs. What about keep off the grass signs don't drive here. And I did do fishing until I set up one day only to be told by the chap I am going to cut the grass. I packed up he drove by on mower laughed at me and didn't cut the grass where I was set up

Positives. The site is very tidy and well maintained, the lake is is lovely with features to fish to, not a runs water,(carp early or late in the day)
Owners are friendly.
Negatives. There is only electric to the pitch, no water,if in a motor home this can be an issue.
Fishing pegs are first come first served, so even if you've paid for a lake side pitch and you are fishing, there is no guarantee of a swim next to you.

Tried for the first time and did not disapoint. Fantastic scenery. Very quiet lovely hosts. Welcomed us with open arms. Although this is a fishing lake. It was great to watch the fishing. And although we don't fish ourselves. It was a great experience, took a tour into York using the park and ride. £3.60 each return and free parking. This was up to £20 for the day in York. We found the toilets and showers both modern and clean, and well looked after. All in all very pleased and will come again. Plz note
this is a quite adults only site. Worth a try thanks for a great stay
