Much has changed since 1867, both in terms of S. Stibbards & Sons, and the local communities in which we are proud to serve. However, the principles of which were there from the very start remain the same today - care, compassion and professionalism. It is this compassionate and intimate connection with local communities that has allowed us to build and run one of the most trusted and well-respected funeral directors in the area.
At S. Stibbards & Sons we pride ourselves on five generations of experience helping to arrange funerals in the local community. Our duty now remains the same as it was when the company began - to provide respectful and personal assistance in fulfilling the wishes of our clients and their loved ones.

We know that organising a funeral can seem like a daunting task, especially when we find ourselves having to make difficult decisions at a time of loss and bereavement, when we feel least able to manage. You can trust us to guide you through every step of the journey. We take great pride in being able to offer a 24 hour service, 365 days a year, providing advice on what needs to be done and by whom.
You are legally required to register the death within 5 days except in certain circumstances, where the period may be extended to 14 days. If the Coroner is investigating the death, they will issue the Death Certificate to you directly and you will then be required to register the death once the Coroner's Certificate has been received.

My thanks to the team at Stibbards for organising my Dad's funeral. Louise was great and helped at a sad time to give Dad a fitting send-off. Scott, who lead the cortege put everyone at ease on the difficult final journey.

Very sadly I have lost two loved one's this past year.
My fiance died first and the care and help I received from Stibbards was outstanding.
More recently I lost my mum, this was and is leaving me feeling lost and alone however Stibbards are caring and so respectful and I know that this horrendous time is being made easier by all the staff at Stibbards Leigh on Sea.
Thank you all x
