The hotel itself is beautiful along with its surroundings. The staff are Lovely and very friendly and helpful. The beds and rooms could do with a bit of improvement. We stayed there for 3 nights over Xmas, and have today received a £100 parking fine for the hotel carpark which I am disgusted with,as the parking is supposed to be free for hotel guests. I will be contacting the hotel Monday morning

I will be returning- this is just underpriced for what you get. Yes, some lightbulbs need replacing here and there and a couple of cobwebs and in this nearly 200 year old building (shocking, I know) but it is peaceful, beautiful with lovely staff and food portion sizes that don't leave you running to the shop for a sandwich.
10/10, prefer it to 99.9% of places Ive been that cost more.

Initial impressions was of a stunning building, however the experience wasn't pleasant. No working heating in either of the two rooms we'd booked, sockets hanging off the wall and a literal hole un the window letting in the cold.
After mentioning the lack of heating, we were provided with a non pat tested plug in heater, - which didn't work. Closer inspection revealed this bad previously caught fire.
Open checking out, we were told one room hadn't been paid for, and had to look back through emails to prove payment.
No discount or refund was offered for the two nights of terrible, cold sleep

Can't help being wowed by the huge fireplace and high glass ceiling with a corridor running around the first floor as you enter the main bar. It is a beautiful historic building, did not get a chance to go on any walks around the grounds.
I thought it was quite expensive for the dated bedroom and the smallest on suite I've squeezed into for a shower but it was clean and the large bed was comfortable.
Paid extra for breakfast which was a limited choice of sausage, bacon egg and beans with toast and cereals.
Staff were affable and helpful, the draught Guinness was probably one of the worst I've

Had an amazing wedding thank you very much me and my wife are very happy best weekend of my life and couldn't have done it without the help of the staff members and the venue its self. Had to hold back some tears of joy on how beautiful it has been and only wish I can rewind the clock to do it all again. Thank you very very much for having us it has been a pleasure

We stayed at Bestwood Lodge last weekend, as part of a group of 12. The architecture of the building is stunning, both inside and out, with original features stll in place; dark panelling and a beautifully carved fireplace in the lounge/bar, many original bedroom doors with wonderful carvings. Our room was very pleasant, quite large with a four-poster bed, overlooking the gardens. The bathroom was modern. Unfortunately, as mentioned by others, the heating in our room did not work, but we were provided with a heater and it soon warmed up.
We were given our own dining room for our stay, where we

Absolutely loved my two night stay here. The wonderful manager, Steve, gave me the bridal suite which is the biggest room I have ever stayed in - heavenly! Beautiful views from the two huge windows and a very very comfy four poster bed. He supplied me with plenty of fresh milk and teabags for my morning cuppas. He even took time out of his day to give me a guided tour of the hotel which also has an en-suite church/chapel! He told me they have enjoyed hosting hundreds of weddings over the years. I can see why, being Richard III's Hunting Lodge with all the wonderful history that goes with the beautiful

Went here for a quick lunch time sandwich. Simple mistake of the food not coming to our table escalated into the chef in the kitchen shouting at the young serving staff and refusing to make another sandwich. The serving staff were very friendly keeping us up to date but none of the managers were around to help them with this. I feel both the management and chef here were incredibly unprofessional at the expense of the young servers.
