Booked the New Year's Eve meal and festivities. Paid over £70.00 per person. Promised fireworks, bag pipers and disco with DJ.
The sales person called to inform us there was a problem with number so they were cancelling the fireworks and bag pipes but they wouls still have a disco but would be in a seperate room to the meal. Fine, we said, not ideal but ok.
Arrived to the Hotel, a beautiful venue. Not sure where to go upon entry and no one to direct you. At the sit down meal, food was atrocious. 3 very small medallions of lamb, only one was edible. The other two were complete fat and gristle

I hired the Grand Ballroom and Champagne Lounge for 77 guests for the day on the first weekend in December 2021. The organization and sale of the event was great but the service on the day was absolutely appalling.
A lot of my guests commented that it seemed they were selling too many events on that day with too little staff to try and make up for Covid and it was just embarrassing.
My event briefing happened at the very last minute on the day and they were running so many events with so little staff that I essentially had to act as the duty manager myself and finish the briefing to the bar staff

My husband treated my friend and I to afternoon tea at Colwick Hall which was most enjoyable. The staff were friendly and attentive. No complaints until we drove out of the carpark to find, even though we had eaten at the premises, there was a £2.50 parking fee.
What was up until then a lovely afternoon left rather a nasty taste as we were not anticipating having to pay for parking and thought it a cheek as we were then captive and had no choice.

Not the 4* experience we were hoping for. We booked there to go to the races nearby for my husbands birthday. The hotel is in it's own grounds with nothing much nearby except the racecourse. We should have asked if they had a lift, which they don't, as my husband is disabled and when we arrived our room was up four flights of stairs in the attics. The rooms are described as "boutique". I don't think so.The bath/shower was impossible to get into for him and I suspect most people would have had difficulty. The toilet worked for part of the time and the maintenance people looked at it and said they

The hotel itself is a great place visit sat in the edge of Colwick Country Park which is always worth strolling around. Next to the hotel are the church ruins which, for both amateur and professional photographers, is a fabulous place to take pictures day or night. One of my favourite places to go - a bit spooky at night too!

Great gluten free food! Attended a wedding as a guest yesterday and can honestly say I've never been better fed. I'm coeliac, need gluten free food and was accommodated handsomely, at both the wedding breakfast and evening buffet. Well done to the catering department, the pleasure was all mine! Thank you

Can't say to much as we only had a couple of drinks but lovely looking place the staff seemed very friendly. It's all clean as you would expect. We never ate here but menu looked good and prices weren't that over the top either. Definitely worth a visit.

All the staff were lovely and looked after us well. The hotel itself is a wonderful building with a history and the grounds are stunning. The view from our large bedroom was glorious and the fountain lulled us to sleep in the evening. We were there for birthday celebrations and were made most welcome. Nottingham station isn’t far away but the views from the hotel are purely beautiful grounds and countryside beyond. I would love to stay again in the future.
Thanks to all the staff.
