We are open for all services, but access to the premises is by appointment only in order to maintain social distancing. We are offering all eye health services, including sight tests, contact lens checks, and minor eye condition services (MECS). We are also offering spectacle dispensing (purchases), repairs, and adjustments.

Services
With over fifteen hundred frames to choose from we are confident we can find that particular style you're looking for. But if we haven't got it in stock, we can usually source it. Why do we stock so many frames? Because we like to give you a vast choice, with numerous designer brands in the mix. However, we pride ourselves in finding styles that are different enough to stand out from the crowd.
There are a bewildering array of lens options available for the spectacle wearer, all of which are designed for specific prescriptions, frames or occupational use. At Liage we check the lens designs of numerous manufacturers to ascertain if they are both good and value for money. Examples of lens options are Multi Anti Reflection (MAR) coatings, Photochromic lenses, Bifocal lenses, Varifocal lenses and High Index lenses.
Rigid lenses generally give good eyesight correction and are considered the most 'healthy' for your eyes. However, they are considered the least comfortable as you have to 'build up' your wearing time. This is due to the eyelid margins initially feeling some irritation during blinking and need to be desensitized.
Children of 16 and under, have Free sight tests on the NHS and receive an NHS optical voucher towards the cost of their spectacles. At Liage, this means you have a choice of a large range of spectacles absolutely free. To make sure your children enjoy having glasses, we ensure our range of frames is both fashionable and fun to wear.

I was in the area on holiday, and had an infection in my eye I went into 3 well known opticians, each one directing me to the local hospital! After getting upset with the lack of help, I finally spoke to the optician at Liage. They were so helpful, and advised me what I needed to do following a phone consultation.
I would like to thank them so much for their help and would highly recommend them.

I am absolutely in love with my new Johann glasses from the dare to be different range. And bought from such a lovely friendly opticians. I'm not a fan of getting my eyes tested but all the staff made me feel completely at ease and it was actually a nice experience. I will definitely be going back. I would highly recommend them!!!!

I am a loyal customer to Liage and have been for several years. The ophthalmologist really knows his stuff and has given me lots of advice over the years. Wayne and the team go the extra mile to give the most amazing after sales service. They have put up with me changing my mind on several occasions; they have advised me about styles and have searched drawers and catalogues trying to find my 'ideal' pair of glasses over more years then I care to remember. If i see a frame somewhere they will order it in for me to try. You may ask why I don't buy the frame I see at the opticians where I see it.

I have been a customer at Liage Optitions since 1999, and have never had a less than wonderful experience. :-) I kid ye not. I have always found the help and advice second to none. Liage has a really friendly atmosphere, and I have always found they are happy to go that extra mile to accommodate me. I have also seen this with other customers on my regular check ups and visits. I prefer the special and individual touch, that they always provide at Liage.
