Services
Taylor Biddle Opticians was founded in 1994 by Tracey Taylor and Mike Biddle at the Compton premises. Two years later the Wombourne practice was opened. Mike retired in 2010, and in Febuary 2014 Olha Lac joined Tracey in the partnership. Olha has worked for Taylor Biddle since 2005, and has considerable experience.
Olha graduated from Aston University in 2004 with a First Class Honours Degree in Optometry and over the next 10 years worked for Taylor Biddle before joining Tracey as a Director in 2014. Her vision for the business is firmly focused on embracing the latest cutting edge technology and providing the very best quality of eyecare and eyewear to the local community.
Our eye examination, involves a thorough investigation of not only your vision, but also the co-ordination and ocular health of your eyes. We prefer to conduct the EXTENDED EYE EXAMINATION, for which there is an additional fee for those eligible for the standard NHS test, and basic private test.
The fee reflects the high quality of our resources, the extensive leading edge technology used by our optometrists (OCT scans of the back of the eye are taken and analysed during the extended examination), and the extra time required for the comprehensive procedures involved.It may also be necessary to dilate the pupils.

We are now offering a Private Eye Examination Plan to all our patients. Currently the standard NHS funded eye exam is the same as it was when it was first implemented in 1948, but technology and expertise have increased a hundredfold since then. Eye conditions that previously would have caused blindness are often treatable, and there is now the ability to detect these problems early with the aid of cutting-edge technology.
Good vision is essential in childhood development and regular eye examinations are the key to good vision. Research has shown that one in five school children have an undetected eye problem. As 80% of a child's learning occurs visually, many children cannot see well enough to reach their full potential or enjoy everyday childhood activities as much as they could.

My Wife, Jane Cook visited Compton on Saturday 18.12.2021 and at very short notice was able to see Talas Oonna. He was exceedingly helpful with advising her with treatment for a Cyst on her bottom Eyelid.

I personally would like to thank Hasan for looking at my very painful eye. He understood the pain I was in and helped with my sty/eye glands which even from a few hours has made some difference. I am extremely grateful, and he has advised that I seek further medical care if my situation is not sorted, however has given me drops and anti biotics to help! Here's to better eyes. My ageing father was referred to Taylor Biddle for an urgent eye examination by his doctor. The two optometrists we saw looked after him with such amazing professionalism, and following a urgent referral, we were as promised seen by the hospital the very next day (Sunday). Could not recommend this optician enough. Well done!

I have disliked eye tests in the past & was apprehensive about seeing a new optician after many years with my last one. Reception was welcoming and Taras was very reassuring throughout. Tests that I used to find difficult were so much easier given the more modern equipment. Covid precautions were reassuring. I have no hesitation in recommending Taylor Biddle.

From as soon as you enter through the doors you are welcomed with an abundance of smiles and pleasantries. The optometrists is thorough and patient throughout the whole examination and the staff are extremely competent in selecting the right eye wear suitable for the look you want to achieve. Couldn't ask for a better opticians!

Our first contact with Taylor Biddle Opticians was last year just a couple of days before Christmas after my wife had badly splayed the arm of her glasses after having bizarrely caught them on the toilet roll holder whilst cleaning the bathroom floor! Not wishing to venture into the town centre to the Boots Opticians where she’d originally bought the glasses from, she called Biddle and Taylor Compton and asked if they could help her. She was seen within the hour, her glasses restored back to their original shape by Tom and was not charged a penny!

Appointments only, hand gel offered on entry. Felt they complied with Covid measures. All the staff were helpful and friendly. Bought some new frames which Sarah helped me choose, she was very patient as I wanted something a bit different. The glasses were available for me collect within a week and I absolutely love them. Great fit too and I can see everything clearly again.
