Avoncroft Pre-school Nursery
Avoncroft Pre-School Nursery was established in 1984 at Avoncroft Arts Centre, which adjoins Avoncroft museum. Most of our children attending the setting come to us by recommendation. Read the 2017 report. In the summer of 2010 we applied and were given a grant by Worcestershire County Council to enhance the setting using money provided by the Capital Funding Programme to extend and update the premises.

The new improved building includes a ramped access, new entrance hall, cloak room, kitchen, listening area and inside toilets. We are now able to offer places for around 20 children per session to maintain the small, friendly, warm, cosy atmosphere.
Services
To gain confidence, mix with other children, learn to share, have fun and be prepared for school. To develop social skills, concept of sharing, playing in a structured environment, to develop independence away from home. Confidence, friendships, learning right from wrong, fun activities, communicate with others, understanding rules and consequences.
We hold specific sessions for Pre-School children going to school the September of the current year. We operate a fully flexible approach and will tailor sessions to suit your need, for example, mornings only. All children have access to a secure enclosed outdoor play area and children go on local walks and outings.
We believe that children learn best when they are healthy, safe and secure, when their individual needs are met and when they have positive relationships with the adults caring for them. We follow the welfare requirements in creating a setting which is welcoming, safe and stimulating, and where children are able to enjoy themselves, to grow in confidence and to fulfil their potential.
For this to work you need Acrobat Reader installed (Version 5 or higher). Most machines already have it - Give it a try. If it fails, then please install. Acrobat Reader is completely free and does no harm to your machine. It is used by a lot of web sites to publish documents that can be read on any machine no matter what it is.
We are just off the Bromsgrove to Worcester Road (A38) between the Morrison's super store and the Hanbury Turn public house. There is a small road by the pelican crossing - Follow this road. We are the building at the top. The following link shows our location using Google Maps. If you type in your postcode in the box marked "A" on the left you will be able to get printed directions.

Absolutely the best nursery in the area! Matilda is always welcomed with a smile by Heather and Natasha and she always leaves smiling too! Having attended for 7 months so far ,I have seen her develop so much more! The activities that are done there are fantastic ,and we are kept updated with pictures via Tapestry. It is lovely to know that my child is safe, looked after and having lots of fun!

My daughter has attended since she was 3 and is going to graduate this week. I would highly recommend sending your child her, the staff are so caring and passionate about the work they do with the children and this comes across in all aspects of the sessions that are delivered. Parents are kept well informed and you can always approach the staff if… you have any concerns. My little girl always comes home excited from her days, talking about all she has learnt, from French, cooking, PE, forest school and loads of other exciting activities. Definitely a 5 star pre school that I would recommend

My son Alex attended a few years ago and I felt staff were very helpful, kind and genuinely interested in the children. Alex was helped a lot, particularly with transition into school. I think it speaks volumes that Alex now seven still talks about his nursery days, particularly Carol who was his key worker.

My eldest son attends Avoncroft preschool. When he finishes in July this year ready for school he will have done two academic years there. He absolutely loves going. They do lots of fabulous activities. He loves forest school and cooking and the new addition of pyjama drama doing some workshops. The setting is lovely and the staff just wonderful. Thomas will be well prepared for starting school thanks to Avoncroft. I will definitely be sending my other son once he's old enough.
