Services
Cotton Tails Nurseries Ltd is a group of four private day care facilities, 3 settings are situated across Birmingham, and our newest site is in Worcestershire (Hagley). We cater for children aged between 0-5 years old. Each setting is unique in it's layout and is individually designed. The company was established by Nicola and David Cotton in response to a need for high quality children's day care in their local area.
At all of our nurseries we have an open door policy, encouraging parents to visit/access the setting at their leisure. We arrange settling in sessions to suit both parent and child to make the transition from home to nursery a smooth one. We recognise communication is key to developing a positive parent partnership.
Throughout the 27 years we have been in business, it has been our goal to raise as much money as possible for charity. We have made Birmingham Children's Hospital our main priority and every year make a substantial donation as a result of our 'Fun Week' or specially themed days. Cotton Tails at Hagley is now the home of Dr Whoot, one of the owls that featured in the summer 2015 Big Hoot project across the city.
We operate using the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS). The EYFS brings together learning, development and welfare as a whole, ensuring that both go hand in hand, in an environment which nurturers all children. This is something that we feel we do very well, using the learning and development requirements to ensure a varied, fun, play based ethos.
As a company Cotton Tails Nurseries Ltd is committed to Safeguarding children. Our staff are regularly updated on current legal guidelines regarding Child Protection and the procedures that need to be followed in response to a concern. We have stringent recruitment procedures.

All new employees are subjected to an enhanced DBS disclosure, are required to have a minimum of two references and have a thorough induction period before being left unsupervised with the children. In addition to our policy and how we would respond in the circumstances of a Child Protection Issue, we have high standards of day to day practice that contributes to the safety of children.
