Barton Veterinary Centre
Barton Veterinary Centre is a family run, independent practice located in the Old Police Station on the High Street in Barton. We are a highly motivated and dedicated team who provide a personal and caring service. We know your pets are important family members, we work with you to ensure excellent treatment for your pets.
Services
Since 2008 Barton Veterinary Centre has expanded and developed and we are very proud of the team and care that we provide. We both care passionately about our work.

Clare has since gained her Certificate in Advanced Veterinary Practice (CertAVP) - this is a Masters level qualification awarded by the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons after examination by The University of Liverpool Veterinary School and The Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies at The University of Edinburgh.
Our main consulting room is very spacious allowing us plenty of room for even the largest of patients (and it's family!) What happens in a consult? First we'll welcome you and your pet, then we'll have a chat about what's wrong.

Once we have an idea of your concerns we'll examine your pet thoroughly (this may involve listening, feeling, touching and looking closely at all parts of your pet) after we have found out what is wrong we'll explain our findings and explain what further tests or treatment is required.
In here we do all the main surgery. Neutering (spays and castrates), lump removals, anal gland removal, orthopaedics, ear and eye procedures, biopsies, thyroid gland removal, gastrointestinal surgery and many more. It is an area which is kept bare except for essential equipment only, to ensure the room is kept as sterile as possible.
When we have a poorly animal with an infectious illness we use our other former police cell which is our isolation facility. This means it is possible to use 'barrier nursing' to ensure that we can prevent the spread of disease whilst also providing a quiet environment for the sickest of animals to recuperate.
If you are pet is an emergency or an urgent case please do not book on-line. Instead please ring us direct on 01652 63 63 59 so that we can arrange an appointment as soon as possible. If you are booking a routine appointment please complete our online booking form. Alternatively, you can book your appointment on 01652 63 63 59 during normal opening hours.

We had to take our dog to say goodbye, whilst a painfully sad time Barton Vet were very respectful towards our dog and us. They gave us plenty of time with our dog, we got a small amount of fur as well, we've also since received a letter from from since. Very pleased with their service.

Lovely friendly staff and reasonably priced. I have attended a few times with my pet rats, one of which I was very concerned about as I was worried she had a zymbals tumour. I was allowed to go in with my girls as long as I wore a face covering, and they were happy to see my rats which some vets aren't as they are still considered and exotic pet. On each occasion the vets were lovely and very reassuring, they gave a full explanation of their diagnosis, treatment plan and potential future stages of treatment. Thankfully the initial diagnosis of our recent visit was correct and this was a very deep

Staff are absolutely fantastic, never had an issue and I have a rather excited Labrador who loves going where he shouldn't to make friends. I've used several vets over the years and found one now that I'll stick. Don't change guys you're doing an amazing job

From beginning to end this was an excellent experience.
It started by making an appointment over the phone. The young lady that handled the call was very professional and got all the details correct first time. When I told her of my disability she explained the one way system and arranged for the vet to come out and carry my cats in for me when I arrived.
When I arrived, at the back door, I simply followed the instructions to send a text. I waited a couple of minutes and out popped the vet to pick up my cats and lead me in.
My visit was primarily to get the annual jab done for my cats. The vet

Not sure yet seemed a little unwelcoming. Perhaps it's because of the current situation regarding Covid 19. However the examination of my dog 🐶 was first class.

Excellent Covid-19 safety precautions in place. The staff are helpful, friendly and really care about the animals.
I would definitely recommend them to anyone with a pet in the Barton area
