Thank you for taking the time to look at our website. We aim to welcome you, inform you and inspire you by sharing our beautiful environments and our child-centred approach to teaching children in the moment. Our nursery building was originally the Old Station Masters residence that opened in 1913 as part of the Dunnington/Kexby railway, changing use many times over the years before we opened as a nursery.
Our main goal is to create an environment that is safe, warm and welcoming and gives you the peace of mind that when your children are in our care, they will be happy, settled and through the special relationship with their Key Person, have the confidence to explore, discover and grow. We love to share our parent testimonies with you as true reflections of the nursery we are both passionate about and proud of.

Services
At Station House we are proud of our dedicated team, with some who have been here since opening in 2005! Through creating a relaxed friendly environment where practitioners are appreciated and their ideas and aspirations valued and supported, we have developed a team who are passionate about what they do.
After completing an Enrolment Form confirming your child's start date, we would love you to come in for your child's Settling in Sessions. These sessions are a special time where we can get to know you and your child and their individual routines and preferences, which will facilitate a smooth transition to nursery.
As part of our commitment to offer the highest standard of care we take great pride in ongoing reflection of our practice, allowing us to be inspired and motivated by new ideas that provide the best possible start to our little ones! Our school website, mobile app and podcasts are created using School Jotter, a Webanywhere product.
The Curiosity Approach is a modern day approach taking inspiration from key Early Years pioneers such as Reggio, Steiner, Te Whariki and Montessori.
In a time where technology is ever-advancing and taking over the 'thinking' in many aspects of our lives, the Curiosity Approach emphasizes the importance of encouraging our children to develop their own skills to become the 'thinkers and doers' of our future through the support of mindful, passionate practitioners and adapting our early years environments to inspire curiosity, wonder and awe.

In the Moment Planning focusses on prioritising quality teaching interactions between practitioners and children that really 'make a difference' through: modelling language, showing, explaining, demonstrating, exploring ideas, encouraging, questioning, recalling, providing a narrative, facilitating, setting challenges, providing equipment, adapting the environment and establishing expectations (Ofsted definition of Teaching).
