Services
The original chain bridge was constructed in 1814 and the suspension design was a feat of engineering. The bridge, hanging from a network of handmade chains, became the most famous and unique bridge out of a total of 35 that span the River Dee between Bala and the sea. It was constructed by Exuperious Pickering to facilitate the transfer of coal and lime from his mines between the Llangollen Canal and the main A5.

We have a range of rooms, from our luxurious Chainbridge Suite, through to family rooms for you & the kids, or ground-floor rooms, where we allow four-legged friends (& which open directly onto the beautiful Llangollen canal - ideal for late night 'walks' with the dog). With a gigantic private balcony with views of the chain bridge, the wonderful river & all the way down the Llangollen valley, The Chainbridge Suite is our luxury suite.
People have been coming to The Chainbridge for years, celebrating birthdays, weddings & christenings among many other happy, and some less happy, occasions. Our lounge offers dining & drinks which is perfect for booking a table for a small group, but if you are after something on a grander scale then our riverside Function Room, which also leads to our wonderful Secret Garden, may be the space for you.

We stayed there last weekend and even with the power cut going on, the stay was magical. The staff were fantastic, which really is one of the most important factors staying anywhere. I always appreciate this. We're looking forward to going back there again one day.

Llangollen is a very special place for me and my husband we’ve travelled here countless times over the years. And so we started staying over at this pretty hotel many times we’ve stopped for a little drink by the riverside but to stay and not rush back home is a plus. Cozy, welcoming, lovely staff and lovely food. Just can’t fault it . All staff are lovely and friendly. I did say to Sarah I would give her a mention 😉

We stayed in a riverside 1st floor suite, it was tastefully decorated with fantastic views of the river and scenery beyond. We had a truly relaxing stay, the staff were friendly and helpful and the evening food and breakfast were both very tasty. We have already booked to return next year .

What a lovely hotel, very pretty location, lovely staff and lovely food, the room we stayed in was a double on the first floor it had its own balcony looking over the river Dee and was clean and modern. We couldn't get a mobile phone reception but that dident bother us as we were there for a break from it all.
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Excellent location. Horseshoe falls, Llangollen Town, and Berwyn railway station all within easy walking distance. Hotel itself is nice (would have given 5 stars if room hadn't smelt musty). Restaurant food excellent. Breakfast very good.
