James grew up at Mill Close Farm. He studied at Lancaster University then worked at a meat & seafood business.

Yorkshire Dales Meat Company was founded in 2004, but the Knox family have over 100 years of farming history here on Mill Close Farm. Initially, Stephen Knox started selling meat at local markets during the downturn of the Foot and Mouth crisis. Here, he realised the value in selling local products to local people, and subsequently the company began supplying local shops.
In collaboration with Dales Dairies, Wensleydale Eggs & Dooleys of Easingwold we will be offering a door to door delivery service of meat, eggs, bread and milk, to DL6 to DL11 and DL1,2 + 3 postcodes. We want to do our bit, by continuing to provide delicious and nutritious food to you and your families during this difficult time.
We can supply your business with a wide range of meat products. Our focus is on producing meat of a high quality whilst also being affordable. We are highly experienced at achieving the balance between affordability and quality, ensuring that chefs can make the most out of their menu, and restaurant owners can secure a high profit margin per meal.
As a company, we recognise the importance of sourcing the finest beef products for our customers. We raise our own cattle here at Mill Close farm, but as our customer base has grown, we unfortunately don't have the acreage to raise enough cattle to meet our demand. As a result, we have built an excellent rapport with other local farmers and businesses to share our own values and supply quality products.
As a company, Yorkshire Dales Meat is renowned amongst chefs for our excellent sourcing of lamb. The Yorkshire Dales has a long tradition of producing excellent quality lamb, and where possible we source our lamb from this area. We appreciate that lamb is becoming a more luxury product due to rising prices.

Yorkshire Dales Meat Co what a terrible experience purchased some meat but one was very awful when questioned they delete the post and send a none decrepit reply about the costs and how it is hung etc. No resolution to the problem just go away we don't wasn't to know not our problem attitude to a complaint cannot delete my posts though?
It really is a shame that the company MD/FD did not want to sort out the problem just fobbed me off. A resolution was available however none was taken.
