Award-winning butcher, Elite Meat, started out in 1999 through two brothers, Gordon and Andrew. As sons of a local farming family, both knew the value of good quality and locally produced Yorkshire meat. Since then, our shop near Harrogate has gone from strength to strength. We're a traditional butcher catering for individual and trade customers.
Andrew farms 140 acres of land in Kettlesing. He also manages a further 170 acres of land in the surrounding Harrogate area and is a national livestock judge. Andrew left the business a couple of years ago to concentrate on his animals, but still supplies us with amazing lambs & also helps out with sourcing the best animals from the best farmers.

Services
Our grass-fed beef comes from native breed, free range cattle, dry-aged in our Himalayan salt block chamber for a minimum of 14 days to achieve a greater depth of flavour, tenderness and all-round eating quality. All beef is produced locally, enabling us to keep full control over the source of our meat and to guarantee the very best in quality.
Our prize-winning lambs are home-reared and finished locally at a farm close to our premises on the edge of The Dales. Our dry aged lamb is a popular choice amongst our local customers in Harrogate, who have come to trust us over the years for being a butcher that insists on quality on every single cut of meat.
All sausages are made on our premises using only the finest free range Yorkshire pork and the freshest ingredients. Each skilled butcher working at our premises near Harrogate makes burgers and sausages to our own exacting standards and these are filled and linked by hand. We pride ourselves on using different flavours and ingredients for sausages.
At Elite Meat, we offer butchery/cookery classes to help improve all aspects of your culinary skills. As one of Britain's best butchers, we try to encourage as many people as possible to take on our classes, to learn the best cut and the best cooking technique for the whole animal. These elements ensure you get the best value, flavour, succulence & enjoyment out of our fabulous meat.

I promise you will not find a better butcher shop! I have been to several butchers across the state and none come close to providing the quality and service that Paul and Jay do.
I have been a regular for almost ten years now and I don't have a single complaint. Their steaks speak for themselves with all that gorgeous marbling but I am just as impressed with their other meats. The chicken is the best I have ever had - no joke, my family can't eat chicken from anywhere else anymore because there's such a noticeable freshness/cleanliness. The breakfast sausage is unbelievable - blows any local diner

I have to say I have never really been into warm pork pies.. until! I ate one from here, oh my god didn’t think anything could be better till today when I went in and got a chilly jam pork pie!!!! They are… amazing, I can’t wait to get one tomorrow . Brilliant service lovey chatty friendly staff, great advice and clean well presented. Only place I will go for my meat now x

This was my first visit to Elite Meat butcher shop and I was very impressed. The location is very clean and the butcher there was very friendly. Everything appeared to be fresh and of good quality. They made meat paddies while I waited and I also ordered the thin chicken breast cutlets. I grilled both meats and they were delicious. I highly recommend this location and will certainly be back.

Found the place today following a recommendation from friends. Planned a family dinner - rib roast and mashed potatoes. It could not have been better!!!
The owners Paul and his son Jay are both knowledgeable and honestly really good, warm people. The roast was hand trimmed by Paul and while there, I was able to pick up some Irish staples - brown soda bread mix, YR & HP sauce, and Irish sausages for breakfast tomorrow

Would definitely recommend Elite meats as staff so friendly, helpful and knowledgable about the products. A great range of local products and bakery items delicious. Using their delivery service at the moment as self isolating and staff must be working so hard as the service is fantastic and really commend them for this.

One of the charms of strolling through a small town in Ireland is peeking at creative displays in shop windows enticing you inside to experience the rich array of items and friendly welcome of the shopkeepers. The exact opposite of a strip mall or large box store familiar at home.

His shop is spanking clean and his deluxe selection of prime meats beautiful to the most discriminating carnivore. The best meat you'll find around, hands down. From beef to pork to chicken (those chicken burgers!)... you cannot go wrong. The quality is incomparable and the service is second to none! Paul knows his stuff and is always generous with his time. We are incredibly lucky to have Elite Meat because real butchers selling prime beef are few and far between.

Elite meat has the best quality meat around. Paul is very knowledgeable and will guide you with any questions you have, what to buy, and then how to prepare it then cook it. Working directly with the owner or Jay, they will custom cut to order. Their burgers are the best I’ve ever had! But it does not stop there… the sausages, bacon, chicken, steak, are all just delicious. There is no comparison, the quality is just outstanding.
