Services
The practice is closed for lunch from 1.00 - 2.00pm - for emergencies only during this time please telephone 028 2565 2301. The practice is on duty for emergencies only alternate Wednesday afternoons and shares the emergency on call with another neighbouring practice. If Smithfield Medical Centre is not on duty you will hear a recorded message informing you of the number to contact for emergencies only.
The Practice is contracted to the Northern Health & Social Care Board to provide Primary and other General Medical Services as a General non-limited Partnership. They can be contacted by telephoning the Health & Social Care Board on 028 9536 2812 or writing to Health & Social Care Board, Northern Office, County Hall, 182 Galgorm Road, Ballymena, BT42 1QB.
Patients who have not attended the practice or have not had a health promotion check carried out within the last 3 years may request an appointment by contacting reception. The health visitor will arrange an appointment to carry out assessments at regular intervals. Appointments are made for new mums to see the doctor for their postnatal check-up approximately eight weeks after the baby is born.
The Practice is pleased to provide patients with access to its Clinical System via a Secure Web Interface. The practice has introduced a policy for dealing with DNA appointments. DNA appointments is when the patient does not turn up for the appointment and does not contact the surgery in advance to cancel/change their appointment.
If the doctor is unable to take your call the receptionist will take your details and the nature of your call for the doctor to call you back. The receptionist may be able to help with your query so it is important to give as much information as you can. Please note: in case of a genuine emergency the doctor will always be able to speak to you; if this is the case please let the receptionist know.
