Westwood is a happy, thriving community based school located in the heart of the town of Buckley, Flintshire. We currently have over 240 learners on board, from Nursery to Year 6, with additional provision for Early Entitlement. We are extremely proud of our work as a community school! This really demonstrates how amazing Westwood really is!
Westwood has faced and overcome many challenges head on in our quest to be the Buckley School of Choice. The success of the school can be noticed and noted in the recent Estyn report; in our competitive standards, secure pupil progress and enhanced learning environment. Our vast improvements were also formally acknowledged by the Minister of Education for Wales.

We are exceptionally proud of our school improvement journey over the years and of extensive developments that our school community has embedded. Westwood has the vision to be "The School of Choice" in the local Buckley Community.
Our Governing body is made up of the following people who represent all the stakeholders of Westwood C.P. School. I am so very proud to be a school governor at Westwood and also to be chairperson for this academic year. Having been a parent governor at Westwood CP school for over 10 years I am passionate about working with staff, pupils, stakeholders and the wider community to make Westwood "the school of choice" in Buckley.
Our Year 5 & 6 pupils would like to show you around our wonderful school. They will be your eyes and ears as they take you on a journey through school life at Westwood. They have scripted and produced a series of videos for you to experience Westwood. This is what they would like you to see.we hope you like it!
We have had a great week in Nursery so far and the children have been a delight. We are looking forward to our adventures beginning and I just know that we are going to have lots of fun this year! Children should come to school in appropriate clothing for the outdoor environment and we will enjoy a range of outdoor activities.
