Services
Our mission is to provide young children with a safe and caring environment where they are free to explore, take risks and thrive. All children are treated as individuals and we will endeavour to support all children to reach their full potential through our child led approach. Parents and/or carers are integral in children's development and we will actively work in partnership with them.
The children attend Class 1 from 2 years upwards until around 3 1/2, when they attend Class 2. Both classes are safe, warm and caring environments, allowing the children to explore the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum. We are housed in a purpose-built building and the facilities include a large central reception and cloakroom area, kitchen, toilets (including a toilet suitable for those with physical disabilities) and hand basin area.
The Windmill Pre-School is committed to making the Early Years experience fun and positive both for children and parents. Each child is encouraged to reach his/her full potential as an individual. We believe this to be achievable by providing a happy and contented atmosphere that fosters self-confidence, independent thought and consideration for others, as well as encouraging an enquiring mind.
Welcome to the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), which is how the Government and early years professionals describe the time in your child's life between birth and age 5. This is a very important stage as it helps your child get ready for school as well as preparing them for their future learning and successes.
Windmill Pre-School offers a limited number of places for those who meet the eligibility criteria for extended hours of free child care. 8.30-3pm Monday- Friday. Please ensure you register within the timeframe otherwise your child will not be eligible for additional funding until the following term.
