Long Crendon Pre School
Long Crendon Pre-School and Out of School Club is a non-profit making community charity run by the Parents' Committee. It was formed in 1968 and belongs to the families that use it. The Pre-School provides a stimulating, active and responsive atmosphere, with a supportive and encouraging adult/child ratio of 1-4 for 2-3 year olds and 1-8 for over 3's.

The Out of School Club provides wraparound care for children aged 3-11 years old. At Pre-School, children learn through play. By play we mean their self-generated, self-directed activity. This may involve the child in huge physical or intellectual struggle and long periods of concentration, but it is still play if engaged in spontaneously from choice.
Services
She has knowledge of being a parent of the Pre-School, and is passionate about the setting. Devon comes with over 5 years experience working finance and administration. Devon is trained in First Aid and Safeguarding. Dawn qualified to Level III in 2010 after many years experience working in the Pre-School.
The Pre-School cannot legally function without a committee and we do need our community to get involved. Committee Members are vitally important to the Pre-School to support the management of the setting. Research shows clear benefits for children when parents become actively involved in their child's learning & development from an early age.
Long Crendon Pre-School and Out of School Club believes that you as parents are the first educators of your children. We seek to work in co-operation with all parents and primary carers to meet the needs of the children and families that use our facilities. To support and enhance the development of your child, and to respect, understand and value the contribution you as parents make towards your child's learning.
Children are admitted to the Pre-School from the age of 2 years and to Out of School Club from 3 years. Places will be offered on preferred days, if possible. In the event of the sessions being full, we will operate a waiting list based upon date of birth & booking date.

Although this Pre-School strongly recommends that children attend one under-five's provision only, we recognise parent's rights to choose to send their child to more than one establishment and we are happy to accept children attending other placements, providing that the child concerned does not exhibit signs of stress and confusion.
Staff and committee members work in partnership developing policy and procedure documents for the Pre-School and Out of School Club. The policies provide an essential framework for the staff to use when making decisions about the day-to-day management of the Pre-School and Out of School Club. Our policies and procedures are continually reviewed to ensure compliance with legislation and current guidelines.
