We are a long established, proudly independant, veterinary practice, providing tailored health care for your pet. Our passionate and knowledgeable team work together to look after you and your pet throughout their life from everyday health advice to emergency help and expert referral care. When you visit Bay Vets, your animal should normally not need to be referred elsewhere for treatment.
Between our four surgeries we are equipped to conduct everything from thorough general health checks right through to major surgical procedures. Our expertise means that we are recognised in the surrounding area as somewhere other veterinary practices can send particularly difficult cases for treatment.

She then spent a short amount of time working for DEFRA during the foot and mouth crisis, before joining us as at Bay Vets. Today Katie works mainly from the Morecambe surgery. She loves her small animal general practitioner role and takes a particular interest in feline work. Outside of work Katie spends her time walking, cycling and gardening.
Our Lancaster surgery stands proudly in the centre of Lancaster. It is a large neo-classical stone-built building that was built in the mid-Victorian era for a member of the Cadbury family. A wonderful feature of our impressive building is its grounds. With extensive lawns and flower beds that we take great pride in maintaining, our veterinary surgeons often use the space as an additional examination area in the warmer months.
Our Morecambe surgery is a large Victorian house that was built in the 1870s. It was situated on a busy tram line into the town and today remains on the main route into Morecambe. One of our directors, Katie Kyle, has been working at this practice for over 18 years. She started off as a new graduate at Bay Vets and has never wanted to leave!
Our surgery is located in the market square of Milnthorpe and began its existence in a building that had been a small betting shop. In 1983, a veterinary surgeon named Susan saw great potential in the property and transformed it into an intimate yet dependable veterinary surgery. What our Milnthorpe surgery lacks in size it makes up for in personality and great care.
Our surgery is located on the main road through Caton. We have worked long and hard to fully refurbish the surgery from a tiled butchers shop into a beautiful clinical veterinary branch that still has that homely feel. Retaining the convenience of a village practice we are still part of the Bay Vets family giving you access to all the services offered at the main surgery in Lancaster, just 5 miles away.

I was shocked by the level of insensitivity and unprofessionalism shown by the vet who recently put my cat to sleep, it was upsetting and unnecessary. I'd said my last goodbyes to him, closed the door and was leaving the building only to see the vet dash by holding Tommy in one hand and instructing the receptionist on how to print out the £128 invoice, clearly before I left the building, it transpired that the vet knew nothing of his history and the fact id recently spent £600 on surgery for cancer. The thought of him watching me walk out of the building without him was awful

Traveled to this vet after finding out the vet who would be seeing us at our local surgery was one we don't like - he's very rough and cold with the animals.
We took our newly adopted & very sick hedgehog to Bay Vets and they were fantastic - not only can you clearly see this is a surgery that cares about people's pets (the waiting room is split into small sections for cats, dogs & rabbits; blankets provided to cover carriers etc) but the vet we saw was wonderful.
She was gentle with our hedgehog and knew what she was talking about, she also handled him as little as possible as he was already
