The Seven Stars shows that it is possible to combine both quantity and quality while dining in a charming, traditional setting with food to do 'Beefy' Botham proud. Decided on a very last minute Sunday lunch and The Seven Stars immediately sprang to mind. We hadn't booked but Paula managed to squeeze us in.
Our delicious food and welcoming atmosphere has made our pub restaurant extremely popular, so please call us to book a table to avoid disappointment. We strongly recommend that where possible a reservation is made to dine, this is especially so when wishing to dine at busier times such as weekends or when a large group wish to dine together.
The Seven Stars (or Seven Stars Hotel as it was originally known) dates from approximately the 1840s. It has certainly been in existence since 1849 when the licensee was Joseph Dunn, who was also the local shopkeeper. The hotel was operated for many years by the Birkenhead Brewery before passing on to Whitbread's, and then on to Carl and Paula Starkey who run it as a free house.
The Seven Stars is located in the village of Thornton Hough on the west side of the Wirral peninsula. It is easily reached from Junction 4 of M53 motorway, being only a five minute drive away, and the A540 Chester High road turning off at Parkgate Lane and following the signs to "Thornton Hough". From either route the village is well sign posted.

At one time I would of highly recommended this place but tried to say something was wrong with my meal in private that was a mistake. This place has gone down hill in my eyes. The owner is fine when you give good reviews but be careful if you have something bad to say. Acted like a petulant child since so I'll avoid it from now on. Your choice what you decide to do.

We visited the Seven Stars today for Sunday lunch.
It was excellent from start to finish.
The staff were very friendly, attentive and welcoming.
We thoroughly enjoyed our roast dinner, tasty dessert and drinks.
Afterwards we sat near the open fire, which added to the warm, welcoming atmosphere and lent its' glow to the ambiance.
Thank you Seven Stars.
We'll be back! 😃
