Amazing place just outside Ambleside. Behind the manor passes the footpath that leads to Grasmere. Highly recommended.

Lovely grounds are free to walk round & there's a nice tea room with great coffee! Lots to find in the grounds - ice house, game larder & grotto, which are all listed buildings (as is the house & gardens).

The campsite was clean and well maintained. The pitches were spacious and facilities are great. All the staff were very friendly. There was loads of walks from the campsite and so much to see. I'd highly recommend and we will be going back to the campsite again soon.

I stay at Rydal Hall once a year and it is just a joy to be there. The Hall is a wonderful place to be, with a fascinating history. The food is excellent and the place is well run. Its gardens and surroundings are exquisite and it is an excellent place from which to walk.

Beautiful Hall and grounds, which can be enjoyed from the grounds even if you can’t go in (because you have a dog with you).
Fabulous views from the ornamental lawns especially when not one but three of the helicopters from the local army base fly over 😮
great tea rooms behind the hall and don’t miss the waterfall and sculpture trial as well as other short walks around here

An absolute must see! The whole place is immaculately presented. The gardens are very well tended and yet nature is allowed to do her own thing. A perfect balance.
In keeping with the natural feel of the place the campsite is very much as it comes with small slopes, flat pitching areas and sheep wandering past your tent. We weren't lucky enough to spot the deer, maybe next time..

Amazing lovely campsite. Waterfalls running all though it for cold dunks and Rydall water 7 min walk for all your water activities. Staff on site are very friendly and helpful. Managed to move so people around so they could accommodate a 6 night stay in the same pitch. Would highly recommend and will be going back again.

The view from our bedroom is spectacular and the grounds are wonderful with lots of facilities. Free from diets were poorly catered for. We were asked for special diets in advance,, and these were submitted in advance by email, but we're not passed on to the kitchen. We arrived on Saturday and were told, because it was a bank holiday, necessary food could not be ordered until Monday. Even so, rarely was correct food provided automatically. There was only one day oat milk was provided and labelled. Often the wrong food arrived at the table. Always Flora (dairy free) had to be asked for. Many times
