The nineteenth century Wheatsheaf Inn is situated on the B2184 on the edge of the historic village of Cuckfield. The mainline station of Haywards Heath is a short distance away and offers an excellent service to London in under an hour.

Gatwick Airport and the South Coast resort of Brighton are within easy access, together with the City of Chichester and many famous local attractions including Hickstead Showjumping, Wakehurst Place, Glyndebourne Opera House, Ardingly Showground and both Goodwood Racing Venues. We are central for both coastal and countryside excursions.
Services
We do recommend that in order to get the best service that you phone us direct to book on 01444 454078. The Wheatsheaf offers en-suite accommodation for your stay. The bedrooms are comfortable and cosy and all have Tea and Coffee making facilities, Digital Televisions, Hairdryers, complementary soaps and soft fluffy towels.
The kitchen is run by Chef/Proprietor Nik Cobley who takes pleasure in offering a varied Menu using the very best fresh seasonal produce. Top quality ingredients are sourced locally, where possible, from a network of trusted local suppliers and producers built up over the years. Our fish comes direct from Newhaven, our top quality meat and poultry from our local Butcher.

Great English pub. Very good food. A modern menu of pub food offerings, including vegetarian. Fun quiz night and staff and regulars were welcoming.

Very unwelcoming, as we walked in no one acknowledged us and we had to find a waiter to get a table that we had booked. It took 15 minutes for a waiter to take our order once we eventually got a seat and almost an hour to get our food and not even apologizing for the long wait. We were not even asked once if we want something else to drink or even how the food was. Very very bad service and would not recommend this place and we were just a number there to get rid of. Have never experienced this before

Very welcoming, great friendly staff and lovely reasonably priced food. Only downside was the traffic noise outside at some points. Would recommend ear plugs if you are a light sleeper.
