I have been a part of the Pippin family since 2001, starting as a committee member, then progressing my career within Pippin, gaining many qualifications in childcare. I have high expectations of myself and the staff team, who bring with them a breadth and depth of professional knowledge and encourage a learning culture with a strong ethos of inclusion.
Our setting offers a warm and engaging environment for children to develop and learn through play. We have a full and varied curriculum that provides a solid foundation upon which children can achieve their full potential.

Services
Pippin Pre-School was established in the 1960s. We began as a morning playgroup and have evolved into a busy pre-school offering a full day of wraparound care (7:30am-6:00pm, 5 days a week). We offer Pre-School education for children aged 2 to 4 years. The maximum number of children per session is 60.
Pippin offers your child a safe, supervised environment which is tailored to their needs. Sessions consist of free flow play, with access to both inside and outside areas at all times. Children are grouped according to their age into Littlestars or Superstars, with age-appropriate activities offered to each group.
We are committed to the early identification of special educational needs. We use the graduated response process of 'Assess - Plan - Do - Review' in line with the Special Educational Needs Code of Practice (2014) to meet children's special educational needs in our setting. Our Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Co-Ordinator (SENDCO) is Rachel Richardson.
The children voice their opinions and know they are valued and listened to. The children understand that their choices may not always be met and that decisions are made through democracy. The children recognise the rule of law by learning to understand right from wrong. They experience consequences of their actions and are taught to respect the people around them.
Our Lift Off To Language Co-ordinator Amanda is accredited to deliver this programme. It promotes speech and language through small group activities, introducing them to a wide range of vocabulary and promoting their self-confidence to interact with their peers. Our programme is delivered over a six week period with groups of six to eight children.
