Usk has been keeping a secret, or rather the Glen-Yr-Afon Hotel, situated just a few minutes walk from the centre of Usk, has. The secret is the hotels restaurant, Clarkes. Dining is available in our oak-panelled Restaurant and the Dining Room which opens onto a courtyard. Breakfast is served in the restaurant and is included for all of our guests staying on short breaks, on business or as part of a wedding.
Sunday Lunch in the heart of South Wales - the perfect way to relax and make the most of the weekend. With sitting times between 12 noon and 3pm, we offer a delightful selection of dishes which vary weekly. Our traditional Sunday Lunch is served in the pleasant and relaxing surroundings of our Clarkes Restaurant.

We have stayed at this hotel on numerous occasions and have always been delighted with everything. All the staff are welcoming and friendly and the breakfast is superb! One staff member in particular has always been most helpful is Sue, who is one of the members of the waiting staff team for breakfast - Sue always makes our stay that extra bit better with her fabulous service.
We stayed for the first time on Saturday 6th November in The Cottage which is in the grounds of the hotel - it was excellent and for 4 persons a very good price with breakfast included. There's a kitchen (fully stocked)

We found this little gem in Usk and feel very fortunate to have booked a 5 night stay at the last minute. Lovely hotel and grounds * warm welcome* Lovely comfortable room with deep bath* superb dining* excellent service and attention to detail*. An elegant and meticulously maintained hotel in picturesque surroundings. The staff are an asset to this lovely place - so courteous, professional, friendly and attentive. The room was very comfortable and we slept very well. Our room didn't have a view of the gardens, but with the window opened, we were lulled to sleep by the soothing sound of the water fountain in the little courtyard below, which compensated. We didn't try the hotel restaurant this time but had breakfast and it was very good. Its a very "grown up" hotel and we can see why it would be perfect for weddings.
