Halsnead Primary School
Every child will reach their own personal and academic excellence and will be motivated to be a life-long learner. Sometimes it is hard work. It feels like she is climbing a mountain and makes her legs feel heavy. But she knows how good it feels when you give it a go so she rolls up her sleeves and gets going!

Look at all her stickers that show how well she has been trying! She has badges for asking for help, for thinking of a possible solution to something tricky and listening to feedback from others who can help her. Rosie also knows that resilience is not always easy. She is a blackberry, and they don't grow in pretty gardens.
Services
Our vision is that every child that attends Halsnead reaches their own personal and academic excellence and is motivated to be a life-long learner. We believe that we can only do our very best when we work together, in genuine partnership with you and the wider community. Our school is a special place full of learning, laughter and friendship where everyone is happy, feels safe and is valued.
The local governing body (LGB) is the key strategic body of the school. Its role is to work with Trustees at The Heath Family Multi Academy Trust and ensure all statutory duties are met and the school is making good progress. The full governing body is made up of 2 parent governors, 2 staff governors and 5 Trust Appointed governors - they all have a 4-year term of office.
The Junior Leadership Team is group of students who are elected to represent the views of all pupils and work together to improve their school, the community and the world. We follow a democratic process to elect the Junior Leaders. If they wish to become a Junior Leader, the pupils must give a short speech to their class and, when appropriate, a wider audience.
We welcome visits to the school by families who may be interested in applying - please contact the school office on 0151 4778130 to make an appointment or to ask about the next EYFS Open evening date. We use the Knowsley School Admissions procedures in order to determine the allocation of places. We recommend applications are completed online.
In 2019 our combined results strengthened. We improved from 24% of children achieving working at the expected level for reading, writing and maths at the end of Key Stage Two to 40%. We were extremely confident that the results for our end of key stage two children in 2019/20 would have been stronger.
