My surgery has been offering full time osteopathic care since 1987. I am the most experienced* osteopath in the Ware, Hertford, Puckeridge, Buntingford, Hoddesdon and Broxbourne areas. All osteopaths are members of, and fully regulated by the General Osteopathic Council (GOsC). Osteopaths assess the body as a whole, including all bony and soft tissues when diagnosing the primary structural problems that lead to pain.
Through direct palpation, we attempt to understand why the body hurts, rather than just address the symptoms. I assess and correct local areas of dysfunction so as to balance movement, tone and blood flow throughout the body, using a wide range of hands on techniques, including structural and cranial work.

I have been fortunate to have worked alongside some of the most experienced osteopaths in my professional life. I have been involved in continuing theoretical and practical research, involving publishing papers on new theories of anatomical function, and editing text books.
Osteopaths' fundamental belief is that the body has an innate capacity to heal itself and, where possible, we aim to eliminate the problems that prevent this self regulation happening.I follow the basic principles of our founder, Andrew T. Still. I follow a philosophy that differs in basic principle from chiropractic, physiotherapy and other therapies, although some of our techniques can overlap.

Many babies in the breach position are held by tension in the pelvis and uterus. Gentle relaxation of the relevant areas allows the baby to dive down into the birth canal, usually in 1 or 2 sessions. If not, there may be another cause, such as placenta previa and I would promptly inform your GP. Gentle treatment, usually cranial work, is particularly useful in this case.

Grahame Guard is a absolute top man
I’ve seen him a couple times since 2014 and recently saw him January 2021 with a very bad back
The pain was horrendous caused by not picking up a heavy parcel the right way, I knew I damaged something straight away. I went and saw Grahame the next day , he told me what was wrong and began his magical work, needless to say I managed to walk again, couple of days later all sorted
Grahame is a no nonsense osteopath , straight to the point, no fuss no messing just fantastic

I took my baby to see Graham when she was 5 weeks old as she had lots of colic like symptoms and was very unsettled. After a few weeks and a few sessions with Graham she was like a new baby, we couldn’t believe the change in her and at almost 4 months she is an incredibly content baby. Graham was so patient and thorough when explaining what he was doing, his sessions were worth every single penny!

I have struggled with back pain for nearly 20 years now. I’ve been back and fourth to different osteopaths for years and they’ve never been able to resolve the problem. However Graham knew straight away my issue which was causing me agony and has resolved it. I can’t thank him enough. My long term pain has gone and my whole body feels totally different! Highly recommend.

I went to see Graham at 37 weeks pregnant as my baby was breech. I wanted to avoid a medical procedure to turn him, however the doctors were not hopeful that the baby would turn at the late stage of pregnancy. Graham was amazing and explained what he was doing, helping to make space for the baby to turn. Whilst I was there I felt a big shift down one side and just had a feeling that the baby had moved.
That afternoon I went to a scan and the baby was no longer breech. Amazing!
Thanks Graham for all your help.
