A comprehensive eye examination involves much more than just determining your prescription. As we are independent we offer a wide range of frames, stocking many different styles, designer brands. Every test will be thoroughly explained, and a detailed description of any ocular pathology detected. We are open as normal - however we do require appointments for examination / browsing and repairs.
Went to have my eye checked at Lakeland Optical as I had an issue. Lisa the optician was so thorough and suspected I had a superior retinal tear and vitreous haemorrhage so she immediately referred me to Furness General Hospital. It was after 5pm but the consultant was waiting for me. He looked at it and said I need treatment immediately.

Lakeland Optical was established in 2015 and is an independent opticians, owned and run by Lisa Sariwee. Our mission is to provide friendly, honest, affordable and professional eye care for the whole community. Lisa and her team are available 6 days a week providing thorough examinations and advice on eye care using modern optical equipment, individually sourced frames and endless lens options - you will truly receive a one to one service!
NHS examinations provided FREE OF CHARGE if Over 60, Under 16, Student in full time education up to 19 years age, Glaucoma, Diabetes, Family history of Glaucoma ( over 40), Pension Credit ( guarantee), INCOME SUPPORT, NHS Tax credit, ESA, HC2, HC3 certificate. Community eye care service, is a free service for all local residents for minor eye conditions ie sore eyes/ red eye/ watery eye/ dry eye/ flashes floaters etc.

Visited Lisa and the team today at Lakeland Optical, yet another warm welcome and excellent service. Knowing that you're in safe hands, with state of the art equipment and being reassured my sight is sound and glasses still good to go - the 3D scanner is fascinating and to know that my details are on file to record eye health over the coming years is reassuring, particularly with glaucoma in our family. Sensational service and looking forward to using my new 'sewing' glasses

Lakeland Opticals is a brilliant and 'Top Class' place to visit for eye care. Lisa is extremely experienced and comprehensively checks vision and advises on eye health. There is an excellent range of frames available which Lisa and Helen can advise on and ensure they fit perfectly. I have been to numerous opticians but Lakeland Optical is by far the best for friendly, professional and helpful advice. Thank you.
